NFL: ***2022 NFL Season Thread***

I think he knows he probably just killed that shot when he filed that lawsuit today.
Strange timing considering there are still several jobs open that he's interviewed for and I have to think he was a leading candidate for the Texans given his ties to Watson.

I read the Athletic's article about Flores. I think he's got solid ground. BB texting him is really, really the damning thing.

I kind of agree with two black radio guys here in Detroit who believe the Rooney Rule should just be scrapped because it's useless as all it does is ensure "token interviews" are made, and then the one white guy in the studio (it's his show) disagrees with them because "at least black candidates are getting interviewed - you can't even get hired without at least getting to the table". I mean, I get where he's coming from as well, but it's being totally blind to the fact that these interviews are nothing more than to meet a quota and they're not serious interviews - they're not being interviewed in good faith, being interviewed for jobs they're not even being considered for.

I guess a lot of hall of fame QBs were "underachievers".

-Denver: 20 years of Elway & Manning combined and only got 3 Lombardis'. None of them won in their prime.
-Indy: 19 years with Manning/Luck got 1 Super Bowl win.
-Brees: 19 yrs starting & 1 SB win. Brees & Sean Payton also failed to reach the playoffs 3 years in a row.
-Big Ben only won 2 in 18 years.
-Mahomes was crowned as the next GOAT by media, but only has 1 in 4 yrs.

-Brady & Bill went 9 years w/o SB win.
It's almost like winning a Super Bowl is hard or something.

2 that may not end up in the hall of fame...
-Eli only made the playoffs 6 times.
-Phillip Rivers had a lot of 8/9 win seasons.

49ers: Team of the deacde... went 3-6 in strike year following their 1st SB win.
Got demolished by Giants in 85/86 playoffs. Smoked by Vikings in biggest playoff upset of the 80s.
9ers probably should have won 3 or 4 in a row (87-90). Only got 2. That's life in the NFL, even for the team of the decade.

90s 49ers got hung up with Cowboys. When Dallas fell off, the Pack and Favre took over in 96/97 beating the 49ers in the playoffs.
