He gets zero protection from the line (as a bears fan I’ve been begging for them to pick o linemen early in the draft for years and they get little to no help there). Plus he holds on to the ball too long. Plus he doesn’t check down. He’s set on who’s he’s going to throw it to long before the play starts and zeros in on them.He definitely has a ton of room to improve, but he's not getting help at all. Watching that game last night, and it was shocking how bad their pass protection was. And then knowing how bad it was, I don't understand some of the play calls, that featured deep dropbacks and down field reads. Fields definitely holds onto the ball too long, but knowing that they can't protect him, there are ways to scheme around that, and there just didn't seem to be much of that in the game plan.
