I'm struggling to remember a more disappointing college basketball team in terms of expectations. Basically lost one player from a team that played in the championship game, and probably aren't even going to be in the tournament. Yikes.

I did a quick look at preseason #1 and season record back to late-1970s, and I don't think any of them missed the tournament, and most were in comfortably with fairly good seeds.

Read on ESPN this morning: "UNC's 11 losses are tied for the most by a preseason No. 1 team since the preseason poll began in 1961-62."

Two big Big 12 games tonight.

#3 Kansas at #24 TCU (TCU favored by 2)
Oklahoma State at West Virginia

WVU really needs this win. They only have 4 league wins and probably don't want to risk being 6-12 on Selection Sunday. Oklahoma State is in a much better position and a loss on the road won't hurt them.

I hate to say it, but I am rooting for Kansas tonight. I don't want to possibly be playing KC on Wednesday night so we need TCU and OSU to lose as much as possible.

I know this is crazy to say in this league, but give me the road teams tonight.

I've had my fill of 'well so and so's out so that should help ISU'.

Kansas is so mystifying to me, obviously just a better matchup for us specifically than others, but there are 3 teams in conference I would rather not run into in a tournament situation than them, yet they might end up 1 overall in NCAA tournament.

Can't believe this KU team is going to win the league. They have never really impressed me and we should of swept them this year.

That was one physical game last night between TCU and KU without a ton of whistles. Refs let them play. Huge win for KU. They might win it outright and are looking like they are starting to peak at the right time.

Even when ISU has bad years KU isn't as scary as other teams.

There's inklings of them 'finding it' lately even without much depth.

Its like that every year, going back to Hoiberg and Prohm.
It's because they usually don't have alot of length and generally play clean and rely on good shooting.

These other teams like West Virginia and Oklahoma State alwasy have length and generally try to muck up the game as much as possible.

I think we also get up for Kansas and then don't seem to have much motivation in some of these road games. Hoiberg would destory Kansas then always lose 3 days later in Lubbock to a 2-16 Tech team.
