Anyone else have to explain to their parents every year that the Rose Bowl is no longer the championship game and hasn't been for years?

No, just random Hawkeye fans, that still think bowls being On New Years day is a thing. I dont know how many times I have heard a Hawk fan say but its a New Years day bowl. And not talking about the NY6. Literally talking about bowls like the Gator bowl or Holiday bowl, thinking they are special because they have been on New years day.

Walmart Wolverines will lose their collective minds - most of them didn't even want OSU in the playoff. Which is almost enough to get me to cheer for them - except even if I hate most of the SEC, I just don't hate Georgia.

So you want us to be NDSU? They dominate their conference.... but their conference sucks pretty much. If everyone in the Big 12 sucked except ISU... the Big 12 would be terrible.

Ummm NDSU’s conference is so far and away the best conference in FCS it’s not even close… both teams in the title game are from that league this year even.

Nope. I hate the Big 10 but I don't want a team in our conference winning a Championship and get more exposure for themselves.

My wife knows how much I hate the Big 10 and is really confused why I was cheering for Michigan.

I'm not sure how to respond. I usually respect and agree with most of what you post. but the Big 12 winning Playoff games, especially when it isn't OUT is a huge benefit to the conference. It proves we are more than OUT and don't need them. How many playoff wins has Texas and OU given us since it expanded to 4?

If you're good enough, long enough, the media will ultimately give you grudging respect.

Like Big 12 basketball, nobody really even tries to deny it is the strongest conference now. But it took 5 or 6 years to earn that.

They still don’t gush over the league though like they did the ACC and Big East all of those years and STILL for the Big Ten despite the Big Ten having not won a title in over 20 years.

People need to realize the national media is about one thing and that’s eyeballs. The Big Ten alumni pool is gargantuan, so they are going to ALWAYS talk about them and any success they have will be blown so out of proportion. If the Big Ten did what the Big 12 had done in the last three NCAA Tournaments yikes! You wouldn’t be able to watch or listen it would be so nauseating.

SEC football is a machine and has plenty of schools with a huge following and they back up the success. The Big 12 is going to have a hard time ever getting talked about for much outside of just acknowledging they are the best league due to metrics like in basketball. Especially without Texas and OU. It’s just the way it is.

I really don't want UgA to win (SEC! SEC! SEC!) nor the Suckeyes. I'm looking at it as which team do I think TCU has the better chance to beat.

Based on nothing more than gut feeling, I'm pulling for tOSU (ever so slightly) because of that.

I’m dead serious, there were Hawk fans who preferred they played in the Rose Bowl instead of the College Football playoffs a few years ago. “But it’s the Grand Daddy of them all!”
