***2022-23 CFB Bowl Games Thread***

Iirc it was picked up, lateraled, then passed forward which by that time I think would have been a penalty.

Had they called targeting, and forward lateral gets called, I'd like to know if there was any sort of offsetting there and where the ball ends up getting placed.

It was a legal forward pass.... get over it already. The only reason it might not have been legal is if his knee hit the ground before he threw it, which was close, but I don't think it did.

And it that legally was targeting.... then they need to start stopping these games after nearly every play to let the booth look at all of these hits. Tons of them would be called targeting IMO.

You're acting like I'm obsessing over it and it's the first I've mentioned of it.

I don't know who you think you're responding to, but I never said any of that.

There's a common misconception that the title game is worth some sort of super bonus to the conference. It's worth $0.
Sorry I was replying to someone elses post and must have hit yours by mistake.

So, we should hope that teams in our conference never make the national scene? So when we beat them it really doesn't matter because everyone is just different levels of sucky?

I think we need some of our teams to rise to the top, so when we beat them, we have done something.

If Georgia and Alabama weren't dominating the national championships, we'd never hear about the SEC. Clemson, pretty much single handedly keeps the ACC in the picture.

I kind of agree with you, ideally, I don't want any one Big 12 team to be our only hope. I want a different team in the National Championship hunt every year. Otherwise, everyone who matters writes off your accomplishments, just like they short your pay. And then you lose relevance. And in the present world $ and relevance / rep are very important.

Kids might come to ISU to play against the great Big 12 teams that are all the rage because of all the national championships that are brought back to the Big 12.

We should root for a spread of Big 12 teams to reach championships in every sport to prove we, as a conference, belong.

Good post! I think deep down isufbcurt knows he's wrong about this, but just can't admit it. It's no biggie to be wrong about something, I am all the time.

Having only SEC and B1G teams being successful does NOT help ISU at all. We might as well be in the MAC then.

I ignore also. I never give a **** what any hawkeye fan has to say. Never.None.
I think there are really good Iowa posters on here. TM is one for sure.
I put him specifically on ignore because he said I called him a racist from a post. (Never did and I don't think he is.) JMB quoted Gonzo and said he was the one that did that, not me. By that time I knew it was time to move on and ignore.
Best to move on now anyway and back to the games.

Sorry.... I'm just seeing post after post saying it was illegal.... and got tired of hearing it. Shouldn't have just called you out on it. My bad.

I agree with you but I want that team to be ISU.

But it could mean more money down the line next year when say a Big Xii team is in contention for a spot with another team. If Big Xii teams NEVER win, they will eventually just be left out and thought of like the MWC. I am thrilled TCU won!
Exactly Always being part of it, getting the exposure, means we continue to be part of the conversation. And when media deals come around that is important.

I'm wrong about my opinion that I want ISU at the top and not other Big 12 teams.

Go back to overreacting to everything that happens in the various gameday (FB and BB) threads, you've got that mastered.

I personally don't care about money that's not my responsibility to worry about, the only thing I care about is ISU doing good. And it's my opinion that conference opponents winning championships makes that harder for ISU.
You must not have been around in the 80's when Providence and Seton Hall went from "Who???" to major players in the Big East because they played in a league that was considered the best in college basketball.

If you're that young I understand. But that's the way these things work.

So you want us to be NDSU? They dominate their conference.... but their conference sucks pretty much. If everyone in the Big 12 sucked except ISU... the Big 12 would be terrible.

Wins are wins in my world.

So you don't think the Big 12 can be good with ISU leading the way - got it.
