2022-2023 MBB computer projections thread

a loss isnt the end of the world on saturday by any means

i dont expect to win the conference after what happened last night so now its just all about seeding for the ncaa tourney in my eyes.
Definitely not. I’ve said if we go 10-8, that exceeded my expectations by far of this team.

Hoiberg was 1-4 in Manhattan, Prohm was 3-3 and TJ is 1-0. So over the last 7 years, we have done pretty decent there, even with some bad teams.
Kinda forgot we won there last year. That was a gutty road win. The Shayok year when we blew them out was a fun one. We have been good there lately, minus the end of Prohm.

When we defeat Kansas on Saturday, all this seed line angst will dissipate. Just wait and see.
And then we can all tear out our hair over "what might have been" if only they had held onto a 23 point lead in Lubbock. LOL.

CHOOSE THE FORM OF THE DESTRUCTOR!

As several have said, it's the "how" and not so much the "what."

I realize if ISU had lost to Tech in a back-and-forth type of game, majority of us would be bummed, probably a little whiny, and such, but it'd be more of an irritant/shrug, compared to watching such a monumental meltdown unfold. "Parallel universe" type of thing.

Couple of overarching things I noticed when scanning Torvik this morning.

The "Game Score" stat for last night was the same as the @KU game. Puts it in perspective that we played about the same quality-wise in both those games.

Also I didn't realize that TTU is #57 overall in the country on there. What a meat grinder with the worst team in the conference is nearly top-50.

Another thing - our offensive rating for last night was pretty comparable to @OU. The defense played 6 points worse, though. That makes sense to me because it felt like we did enough to win on offense (thanks Grill), but just couldn't get the stops we needed down the stretch.
Yep, TT is basically the quality of a mid-pack Big 10 team.

I've always been happy with a 6 seed.
Good perspective... almost everyone on here before the season would be over the moon if we got a 6th seed.

I admit I am not excited for settling for a 6 line at this point in the season.
they have a very good resume that has them comfortably above that seed and falling that far would mean a lot of losses and missed opportunitys.
The goal should be a top 4 seed and us fans can be disappointed if we don't get there by March. The goal posts may have moved but that is a credit to the team and they should work to get back to the 2-3 seed level they were at just a week ago.

Finish out 4-5, I think we're a 5 seed. Finish out 5-4 and I think we're a 4.

Anyone upset with a 6 needs to evaluate all sorts of things to do with ISU's NCAA tourney history, and the fact that even blue bloods don't always get high seeds. Get in, hope for a good matchup and some good luck.

If you told me it would be a #6 seed before this season started I would have been ******* stoked.
