Concerned on what was going on with her that she just pulls herself out of the Olympics in the middle of the team event. Part of me wants to be disappointed in her for letting herself and teammates down in the middle of the Olympics, and part of me wants to feel bad for her that she was so stressed out that it came to that. Hopefully she comes back.

That part of you can get bent.

Bridget Carleton had an outstanding performance by helping Team Canada win their first basketball game. For details of the game, please check out my other post on the WBB forum.

Because of Bridget, I paid a little more attention to Team Canada's metals in the standings. So far they have got 10 metals and all their metallists are WOMEN!

American badminton player looks to have just blown an ACL and cannot continue after leading by a game over China. First ever American to the knockout stage, and was looking really good. Sad.

Golf Channel has the Olympic golf coverage. A bunch of players have there wives there as their coach. I swear the announcer tried to make a joke about the coaches not happy if it doesnt get in the hole. Maybe Im sleepy and misheard him … hmmmm.

I am talking about marijuana. I am not saying she uses it for anxiety but I know many people do, including my step daughter. If she did use it to manage it, but had to stop do to Olympic testing she may not have another way to relieve the anxiety thus it could have been building up.
I was figuring that is what you might have been saying. I'll say that with any of those meds (prescription benzos, marijuana, etc) utilizing it for anxiety can lead to a pretty extreme rebound of it once stopped. Especially if someone isn't working through it with a therapist on ways to manage it without that substance. I would hope that the team would have access to those resources but at this point with women's gymnastics nothing surprises me anymore.

Not to get into a whole big thing, but I‘ve been taking a xanax generic for about 20 years. Low dosage, but twice per day. I have never been asked if I wanted to seek assistance in weening off this medication. I go into my doctor’s (different doctor than the one i mentioned earlier in the thread about my ankle rehab, of course. Totally different medical discipline of course) office every 6 months, just for him to send a new refill to the pharmacy and collect a copay.

Telling you…if I miss a couple doses, I feel like I want to die.

They were interviewing Michael Phelps and he said that in all his years of swimming NO ONE ever asked how he was doing mentally which was pretty eye opening.
