2021 men's CBB coaching carousel

It will work to do what? Make their team better? How?

All that kumbaya stuff is fine and dandy if you recognize it for what it is but when no good players want to play for Woodson then IU fans will run him out of town. Recruits don't care about much of anything you just listed. All that stuff does is make boosters happy that they can pal around with some old players at functions and that happiness will go away after 2 years of losing.
I believe recruits are interested in getting to the NBA, where Woodson was for the past 25 years.

I wouldn't touch Porter but somebody is going to make that mistake.

He got a brand new arena, a massive influx of cash, a league change and two transfers that he didn't recruit (Doyle & Custer) and finally turned it. His bracket fell apart in 2018 and, boom, hot commodity.

you must really hate IU. It's about building a culture. Playing 'better' falls on coaching, but building a culture involves much more than that.
I don't care one way of the other about IU. I just see that there are lot of programs out there that already have great culture that still aren't winning big. Gonzaga was a program with a "great culture, can't get past the Sweet Sixteen" reputation until they started getting better players. Now they have three or more future NBA players and voila, they might be our next undefeated national champ.

Having "great culture" is like having a "great personality"...you'd better have more than that if you have lofty goals.

Player quality has never been a problem at Indiana - just saying. Coaching and, yes, culture have been an issue. I guess you think Campbell and his 5-star culture pays no dividends at all for ISU, right? Call CMC up and tell him that his culture speak is a load of crap. I wonder what his response will be....

Matt Norlander at CBS said UNC is the top basketball job in the country. Anyone disagree?

Jordan brand, Dean Dome, diehard fanbase for CBB, tradition only a couple can compare to and you play in a basketball powerhouse of a conference..

Not to mention trends. North Carolina the state is growing like mad, in population and richer. Similar to DSM growth helping ISU more than Iowa.

No one is calling Self - he will be in plenty of trouble, not just Kansas. It seems clear to me that he’s content to ride it out as long as he can, then will probably go the Kelvin Sampson route.
With the Supreme Court currently raking the ncaa over the coals for their business model of exploiting athletes, I just don't see an independent committee of arbiters throwing the book at Self and KU. Self will stay at Kansas until he retires. If he hangs in there long enough, he could pass Coach K on the all time wins list.

I'd agree with that when you take into account all factors. The easier academics than Duke and the built-in conference rivalry with Duke puts it ahead of Duke, Kentucky and Kansas in my opinion.

They need a true powerhouse conference rival. I have that job at #2 below Carolina, then Duke at #3 and KU at #4.

SEC is a football conference. Give me UNC, Duke and KU before UK. If you ask the UK AD if he could win an SEC championship in football or keep Cal. He likely says football. No chance KU has the same reaction because it's not SEC football in the South

I'd put UK above KU simply because of Nike vs. Adidas.
