2019 Personal Goals

Just to make sure I understand the word, a Virgin is someone that’s never been able to emotionally open up to their partner, right?

I would say that would work. I guess I'm pretty much one also if that's the definition, but I'd have to get emotions first so I could emotionally open up.

I have a couple of goals.

1. Live a healthier life. I would like to start a work out routine. When I was in college (2006 - 2010) and even some of my years after college, I did a pretty good job of running or lifting weights. However, as I have been in the workforce longer, I have severely slacked on a good workout routine. I would also like to eat healthier; which primarily means eating out less.

2. I would like to save up money for a new house, so do a better job of budgeting and saving money. I already have a house, but am currently renting it out because I am living with my girlfriend. So this is a joint goal with my girlfriend and I.

3. Since I am renting out my house, I would like to get more rental properties in the future. While I have one house now, I would like to save my cashflows this year so next year I can buy a second. So basically, I want to create a solid foundation for growth.

  1. I lost 30lbs in 2018 even after gaining back 7 over the holidays. I'd like to lose another 15 this year and that would put me at a weight I would feel comfortable maintaining. Zero exercise just eating a little bit better and only drinking beer twice a week.
  2. I always thought I was good about investing for retirement (401k, Roth 401k, IRA, etc.) but I embarrassed to say that for the past 5 years I've never put anything extra in my HSA. Really stupid move so I just signed up to put in the maximum. Hopefully I get a big enough raise so that it doesn't hurt as much.
  3. Not shop for cars.
  4. Vacation somewhere totally new

Get to bed and wake up earlier. I stay up too late and then just get up, shower, and go to work. I think getting up a half hour earlier to wake up more and eat breakfast and just generally be more productive would do wonders for me

One of mine is to go to bed early. With a baby who wakes up a lot, going to bed 7.5 hours ahead of my alarm means 5-6 hours of broken sleep, no bueno. Last night was a fail though. Got to bed only a little late, but couldn't fall asleep until midnight. Then baby was up from 1:45-2:15, fussy, stirring after that...up again at 4:45 til 5:30. Then I was up an hour later. My fitbit is like you got 2 hours of sleep...probably rolling around checking on fussy butt too much. Actual sleep was more like 4-5.

Good stuff here, I'd like to add mine so I can come back and see how I did.
1. Finish my debt snowball. Only $5k left to go, should be done by March, hopefully sooner.
2. Get a dog. I've wanted one forever but was waiting for the first goal to be complete.
3. Get Invisalign. Already scheduled to happen later this month. This alone will be big boost in confidence.
4. Get back in the gym and complete hit my Stronglifts goals. Combine with a healthier diet to hit weight-loss goal.
5. Finally take the DMACC motorcycle course and save up to fulfill this lifelong dream.

Here's hoping everyone can hit their goals! Good luck to all!

So, you ready for child number 2?

To not immediately call people that wear Colorado, aTm, Nebraska, and Mizzou gear traitors.
I mean they may not be happy with the moves made either.

(I really struggle with not telling off those last couple fanbases)

Make a long-overdue career change. I've been working full time and going to school part time since late 2017, and this summer I'll be at a point where I just have to complete an internship in order to complete the program. A job can double as an internship, but in order to take advantage of that I'm going to have to find a job in that field.

1. Health. Get rid of the high blood pressure and get into good shape. Not just acceptable shape. Exceptional by this date next year. Looooong way to go.
2. Add on to and completely redo the exterior of my house.

That's really it for big goals. Maybe find a significant other.

1. Get expenses back in order. I know a lot of it was starting up after buying a house, but the gf and I have gotten way to lax lately. (Holidays about broke me)

2. Either get a newer vehicle, or get my student loans paid off (only 12k left), whatever the budgeting says make sense.

3. Get better at my job, tired of being middle of the road. But, also make sure Im spending more time away from work, try to cut hours.

My goal is to not get my blood pressure sky high when some dumb(&(*^% official makes another ^(&(*^%ing moronic call against ISU. Might have to give up watching and listening to ISU games....
