I did google it first, couldn't find it.
Try this then.I did google it first, couldn't find it.
You are manufacturing controversy. I think it is great that they even mentioned her bronze medal. I actually watched her competition and it is great that she won, but it wasn't really news. Do you really think that a famous woman's partner/spouse wouldn't have had a nearly identical tweet.
I'm pretty sure Curt could hold his own.She may beat your ass in the process
With Hope, he might have to.I'm pretty sure Curt could hold his own.
Uh, I heard announcer comments on Ryan Lochte's hair and Laszlo Cseh's hair at these Olympics. It's a symptom of a larger problem; you are focused on the symptom.
Let's try this one: when was the last time you heard an announcer or reporter comment on a male athlete's hair?

This!! I'm all for equal treatment, but there has been an awful lot of manufactured outrage over stuff this past week.Uh, I heard announcer comments on Ryan Lochte's hair and Laszlo Cseh's hair at these Olympics.

Yay!!! Parity in sports!Uh, I heard announcer comments on Ryan Lochte's hair and Laszlo Cseh's hair at these Olympics.
With all due respect I didn't disagree with it being a problem, I disagreed with it being a problem because the athlete was a woman. I still feel the same disrespect could and would have just as easily been handed out to a male spouse of a celebrity.Yay!!! Parity in sports!
I've heard comments on Dennis Rodman's in the past as well but it's the exception to the rule.
I poked a little fun at the beginning of this thread with my comments about the Tonga flag-bearer, but it's a repetitive theme when it comes to women's sports. If they aren't hot, no one cares. And if they're exceptionally strong and good at what is "supposed to be a man's sport", they're obviously les.
The point is the way that women's sports are typically reported AND covered is so vastly different from those of men. It's rampant through the comments on message boards also (who cares about women's basketball...it's a joke, etc). It has gotten better; for example, female gymnasts are judged more on skill than grace now. Overall the attitude is very frustrating for me to listen to. That tweet I posted earlier was one of the more blatant, and it irritates me to see it dismissed as "no big deal". Usually, the ones doing the dismissing are male.
It gets old.

Also, I don't generally do this but since you brought it up:

Not particularly hot, but no one seems to care. She is a rocking athlete.
She is a normal looking woman without makeup, unlike the gymnasts. And if she was hot, she would be getting way more attention than she already is because she is dominant. Imagine the endorsement money she would rake in if she looked like Lolo?
Psst, Curt, you are undermining my point and proving theirs.normal? shudders
LOL
