2016 Rio Summer Olympics

There's a 19-year old kid from the US playing a 54-year old from Spain in table tennis right now. You can't lose to the old dude, man!

Reporter to swimmer after final: "what was your strategy out there?"

Swimmer: "Um, to swim fast."

Sideline reporters keeping up with their reputation of being completely useless.

Yeah - I don't know enough about volleyball to really understand it. It looked like China touched the net first, then the Swiss. But China challenged, so they looked at China's claim?

It would be kind of funny if the swiss win this. Nvm China still won

I assume you and Carvers will be watching lots of swimming events. ;)

The swimming is pretty good for sure.

Dunno 'bout Carvers, but I like the personal best sports where it's you and a clock or a ruler. No biased judges, refs or umpires. So track & field and swimming, definitely.

Agree with this for the most part. Not a fan of subjective judging although it creeps into officiating in team sports that I like, such as basketball or soccer,

Really don't like the gymnastics much or the version of it where they dance around with a ribbon and it reminds me of synchronized swimming somehow.:( Prefer the men's gymnastics though cause actual men can do it as opposed to girls that do the "women's" gymnastics.

The women's volleyball shorts and the basically bare bottoms on the girl gymnasts get mentioned whenever my teenage sons convey their moral outrage about some girl getting sent home from school to change because their shorts are too short. They always question how they can be violating the school dress code when the volleyball uniforms are shorter. And I always say the volleyball shorts aren't distracting people in the classroom. And the boys always say whenever they have to pay attention, the girls are sitting at a desk so it doesn't matter anyway. Teenage boys. Sigh. Maybe someday they will direct their attention and passion to an issue with slightly more gravitas.

They should have the cameraman pan down a few degrees on these US women's celebrations. I know it's not happening, but the angle they have the camera right now looks like their celebration is: high five-hug-slap on the hoohah.
