Last night was one of the funnest Twins games I've watched in years. Rosario's debut was magical. The offense is really clicking. Even down 4-0 in the first inning the other night, you just had a feeling this team was going to come back. This is a fun team to watch and that's something I haven't been able to say for several years!

It certainly helps when you play the all-or-nothing A's. Though, last night the Twins made Oakland look even worse than they are.

Seems like Detroit has had their number, otherwise have fared well.

Twins are 1/6 of the way through the season and tied for a wildcard spot. Long season, so not sure if I wanna get my hopes up yet.
I'm getting my hopes up, but I'm not raising my expectations. This team right now is playing the way I was hoping they'd be playing by the time August rolled around.

I figured the Twins would get off to a rougher start, get better, and finish with a record close to around .500.

I don't expect this team to steal a wildcard spot, but I've said before the season started, if they're in the wildcard talk in August/September and finish five games or so out of the wildcard, I'd be happy.

Watched the game on Saturday. My 18 year old son, who has been jaded like the rest of us over the last few years of ineptitude, says "When they play like this they are actually fun to watch."

That's really all I want out of this year. Progress and some enjoyment.

I'm enjoying the turnaround so far. Unfortunately we have feasted on some bad teams (White Sox, Mariners, Indians, A's). So far, the only series we've won against a +.500 team is the Royals.

Looking at the schedule this year, it looks pretty back-loaded. There's a 10 game road trip in August against AL East teams followed by a series against Houston, which looks a lot scarier than it did before the season started. Then in September, there's another 9 game trip (Houston, KC, White Sox) followed by a series against Detroit. Then we end the year with a road series at Detroit, road series at Cleveland and then the Royals at home.

I love where we are right now and we're much better than I thought we'd be, but I'd love to see them win a series or two with Detroit. They are in our heads a bit right now.

Speaking of the schedule, I'm going to be in Minny over Labor Day for my nephew's wedding. And the Twins are gonna be here in KC....:realmad:

Maybe I'll make it back for a game

And the Twins get their best pitcher back after the break. It will also fun to also see what happens when they bring their young guys up at late in the season.

See if Perkins can get the save here in the 9th. Twins up 6-5. Would get them 3 out of 4 (which you need to do against teams like Oakland) and 3 games over 500

First time the Twins have been 3 games above .500 since 2010.

Pelfrey now has the 9th best ERA in the AL and Twins get a huge lift from Torii Hunter....17-13!

Bad news: Lost another series to Detroit. 2-7 against them this year.

Good news: Still 19-16 (17-9 without Detroit) - half done with games against Detroit, and chance to win a series against another team that has a winning record in TB though they just swept the Yankees. Have to win 2 out of 3 here.

I must say it's fun talking about the Twins being relevant rather than if they're the worst team in baseball.

Still not a fan of Nolasco. Bats gave him cushion and he still found a way to make it interesting.

Need to win one of the next two and I'd be pretty pumped to take a series on the road against an NL team.
