Nice bounce back outing for Arrieta tonight, I'd be fine with shutting him down after one more start to get more of a look at the Turner/Dubront/Straily crowd.

What are your predictions for wins this year. We're only 10.5 out of the wildcard ;) I think we could realistically claw our way up to 5 or 6ish out. But who knows with how they'll play with the lineup. I'm really getting excited for next year!

It's going to get a little tougher now that Rizzo is out indefinitely and now Castro isn't in the lineup because of an ankle injury. With that said, the Cubs have beaten some really good teams lately. I fully expect them to compete next year. Maybe I'm overly optimistic.

We're Cubs fans...it's what we do.

Castro and Rizzo likely done for the year. Not bad too have them sitting.

That being said, gives everyone a chance to prove themselves.

Tonight's game appears to be a repeat of last night. Not quite as many warning track balls, but just as many Brewers' miscues.

6-1 Cubs in the 3rd.

Did I see that the Brewers have lost 8 straight? Yeesh.

Glad we got Garza. I love the guy as a player but he's really been harsh on our organization since he left.

Cubs are now 51-49 over the last 100 games, 4th best record in the NL over that time. I'm trying hard to avoid expecting a playoff berth next year but it's getting more and more difficult.

I'm expecting at least contention next year. The Cubs will be adding this this off-season and a full year of Soler, Baez, Alcantara and the addition of Bryant will be too much to not at least be in the conversation for a playoff spot.

One of those Cub's bloggers said it best on Twitter: We are in last place with our two all-stars on the DL and I was still ****** yesterday was an off day.
