MLB: 2014 Chicago Cubs

Iowa is a tricky market from what I understand. Many teams claim Iowa as their market and blackout rules kick in. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I've heard.

I'm supposed to have the Dodgers games blacked out, but for some reason I'm still getting them on my Roku. Not a fan of the team but Vin is the greatest baseball announcer to have lived.

I think it's a little over $100 with auto renew. Basically the only way I can watch the Cubs (and strangely the Dodgers). Every game in HD and available on my phone too
Someone once did a map of the U.S. and what teams are blacked out where (I'll see if I can find it.) Based on the map, with the Cubs, White Sox, Brewers, Twins, Royals and Cardinals being blacked out, the state of Iowa is the worst place to live when it comes to the stupid MLB blackout rules.

Iowa and Vegas. Vegas is blacked out to the 5 Cali teams, plus Arizona.

I would like to Castro go if we can get some good trade value for him. He can hit at times, but is a liability on defense.

Barney needs to go, but we aren't going to get anything decent for him. They'll probably let him walk when his contract expires. Too bad such a great defensive player is so lousy hitting.

Nate Schierholtz has been a disappointment after such a great first year with the Cubs. Hope he can turn it on before season end.

I know they are at the bottom of the division, but the Cubs have been a lot more fun to watch this year. It's like watching a teenage kid who isn't quite coordinated yet, but you know once they get to the right age it will all click.

Don't know if we'll see a lot of trades this year(not that I'm an expert at all on this). Seems like they have a pretty good core when you factor in what's coming up from the farm system. Not sure the Cubs are going to have a lot of money to spend yet as one article posted here suggested it will be 2019 before they get out of the awful sale terms that were agreed to when the team was sold.

Cubs go'n Cubs.

Looks like I was right that our biggest trades would go down this week!

Smardzija and Hammel have been traded to the A's.

Glad Smardzija is going to Oakland. ****** place, ****** fans, ****** stadium. Expects to be paid as a top 5 pitcher when really he might not even crack the top 20.

Cubs get Addison Russell (great player, but another shortstop), Dan Strailey(starter),Billy McKinney (outfield prospect), and a PTBNL.

I'm hearing good reviews. Russell is a potential gold glove shortstop with a way above average batting average, alright power and alright speed.

Has to mean Castro is traded, unless we wait until next year and trade Baez or Russell.

Looks like no PTBNL. Regardless, Cubs grabed Oaklands two best prospects. Im guessing one of the shortstops will be gone sometime soon. Probably Baez.

If the Cubs trade Jeff and Castro I'm gonna flip ****. BTW Bryant is still showing he's a beast in Triple A with a .339 BA and 6 homers.

Why? Everyone knew Shark was as good as gone. Cubs have 3 great shortstop's now...why on earth should they keep them? Castro has the highest trade value as he is proven. If Russell is as good as people are saying, Cubs dont need Castro.

I'm actually very surprised the Cubs got that good of a return. I was expecting something like we got for Garza but to get one of the top 10 prospects in the game is pretty incredible even if it is at a position of relative strength for us. My guess is Castro moves to the outfield if it comes to that.

Baez, Castro and Russell can easily play on the same team. If you can play SS, you can probably any other IF position.

Russell 2B
Alcantara CF
Baez 3B
Bryant RF
Rizzo 1B
Schwarber LF
Castro SS
Castillo C

It can be done.

Schwarber would be a cleanup for most teams. That's how powerful this future team is, not even including free agents that we will spend money on.
