2011 wbb recruits?

I have heard of one that tried this year and is still interested for next year. If that doesn't work she will be leaving ISU and playing somewhere else next year.
What does it mean to try? Do they have to be invited or do they have open try outs?

So she tried, but there are no try outs?

Others know a lot more, but I believe walk-ons and members of the scout team
both have to be academically qualified, and have some degree of scrutiny before
they can join 'the family' of ISU WBB. I have no idea what types of things come
up, but I hope anyone who wants to join the team will be able to this time around.

Do we really need walk-ons in 2011-2012? We have nine returning roster players + 4 signed recruits (Ellis, Moody, Mays, Williamson), and maybe one more giving us 13/14 players. I don't really see the need for a walk-on when you have 13 players who are on scholly.

The academic requirements for walkons and the scout team are NCAA requirements. Also there are financial considerations as all members of the team require equipment, meals, transportation and lodging for trips.

Hopefully not for playing time, but a hard worker is always welcome in practice and the locker room. BF has said he likes to point out the good attitude of a walk-on whenever possible.

wondering if bf found anyone from the state tourny, that we will be getting, and wondering about vanloo if she will sign, whats the odds that she will?

I'm assuming she won't and will consider it a really nice bonus if she does. She visited three months ago, and I think the further you get away from that the less likely her signing with ISU is.

Vanloo hasn't (nor her bud Meeseman) declared Eurobasket Proleague availablility so that's a plus. "European Exposure Camps" are held in N. America all late winter/spring long so I know they are looking hard for players. (I know there was a camp in Des Moines March 12 but I don't know if it was for the women).

so in other words, shes a big fat NO.

I wouldn't go that far. STClone is saying she hasn't declared herself pro yet. We're likely the leading candidate if she chooses to go to college in the US (I don't think she visited anyone else). There's still a reasonable chance she comes here. I just wouldn't count on it.
