2011 wbb recruits?

Hey Guys,

A couple quick recruiting tidbits before tonight's big game against Kansas.

1. Emiah Bingley - a 2012 recruit - took an unofficial visit to Iowa State during the Colorado game on Feb. 19. By all accounts, the visit went very well. Bingley hails from Lee's Summit High School in Kansas City and is considered one of the best point guard prospects in the Midwest. She is drawing interest from Iowa State, Colorado, Nebraska, Illinois, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Arkansas, among others.

2. Future Cyclone Nikki Moody will be in the house tonight. Moody had a big season for Trinity High School in Texas, and should be solid guard to add to the mix next year. Say hi to Nikki if you get a chance tonight.

Thanks for the update Ian. For the record though, Bingley is at Lee's Summit West High School and is in the same junior class as FB prospect Luke Knott.

Anyone get to tlk to moody at the gme? Hope fennelly finds some iowa girls at the state tournament tomorrow!

Nicole and her MOm were both wearing ISU sweatshirts last nite. Looking good!
Bingleys team will get beat and knocked out of the state playoffs tonight.
She had a nice trip up during that CU game and got to go head to head with our own famous Medders!

Someone pointed out Moody at the game last night. If they knew what the heck they were talking about, they seemed a little dazed at the time. Was she wearing a white sweatshirt?

I'm getting old so I will say one was wearing a white and one a yellow sweatshirt declaring Iowa State.

Hey Folks,

I caught up with Nikki last night at the game. I'll have a short writeup Thursday.

And yes, she was wearing a white Iowa State sweatshirt and was cheering throughout the game.

Brynn Williamson

::MSHSAA::Girls - Basketball - Class 5 - 2010-2011 - Championship Bracket

As mentioned in another thread, her team won the first round of state 61-43 over Liberty.

But while Fowler — who is headed to Mizzou — punished the Blue Jays for a game-high 20 points, Williamson proved to be a matchup nightmare for the smallish Blue Jays in the second half, when Staley’s lead ballooned to as much as 18.

During one sequence, Williamson, who will play at Iowa State, grabbed four consecutive offensive rebounds before she was finally fouled. In all, she shot a ton of free throws in the second half — well over 10 — and finished the game with 21 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and three steals.

“Bree came out lights out … and really got us started, and Brynn pretty much finished up the job,” Krog-Savaiinaea said.
(The article does contradict itself, calling Fowler's 20 a game-high and then saying Brynn had 21, so I don't know what's right.)

They play Blue Springs in the quarterfinal Saturday night.

mred,
I see that Royal might have posted so I will just keep this short on this forum.
Those 4 rebounds occurred because she missed 3 straight point blanks!
Liberty's tallest gal was 5'9" by media so you know that deal.
Fowler is the studdette this year on that team

Liberty relies on their quickness rather than height, and that pretty much made Brynn the tallest player on the court. Liberty always comes up with a good team, but it seems like their best basketball players end up on soccer scholarships. Like I said on a thread immediately after the game, Brynn was not impressive at all in that first half. Don't know if she was having a depth perception thing with that arena, but her shots were all coming up short to the point of air balls. Second half she became more of a money player as she got aggressive and attacked the basket, resulting in rebounds, easier shots, and free throws.

Next game will be a lot tougher, Blue Springs is ranked second in the state and comes with relentless pressure, speed, and tough inside play. BS has already beaten Staley three times, so maybe the fourth time is a charm. I'd love it, because I do not care much for the BS coach.

When is the game with BS? And are you going?

It is tonight in Warrensburg. Unfortunately (actually fortunately) I won't be there as I am in Surprise this weekend catching the Royals in spring training. One of their future studs, Eric Hosmer ,helped beat the Cubbies yesterday with a grand slam.
