2011 wbb recruits?

vanloo is still debating on wether coming here or not, she likes what we have to offer but doesnt want to come here and be homesick then leave

BF was asked at lunch Monday who he expected could contribute right away, and he said all 4 had the mentality they were ready to play on day 1:) But skills wise, he thought Nikki and Brynn might be the most ready to vie for PT. 'Baby Shaq' wasn't hinted at for red shirting this time; I wonder with Anna's continued knee/health issues, if she will want to play right away, even if PT is not assured. It is pretty much always the players call under BF.
No hints about a fifth signee, they are still looking if the right person shows up.

REcruiting MInnesota hard!!

Anyone think we really have a chance at Bingley for Lee's Summit West. I know she has been to camp in Nebraska and Kiesha Walker is an assistant on her HS team.

Brynn is one of 3 D1 gals on her team so her points are never very high but Staff expects her to contribute next year

Don't count Z out yet! She looks like a team player just watching her cheer on her teammates on the bench.

Very true cybears, Z is true to Iowa State. Born and raised a cyclone. She will just work harder and improve her game. She will find a way to impact winning. She has no quit in her.

How many offers does Vanloo have? Who is she deciding between?

I think the big question is whether she wants to stay in Belgium or come to the US. That's a pretty big decision. I wouldn't be surprised if other schools were looking at her, but I don't know of any others she's visited like she visited ISU in December.

I heard she turned down scholarship offers from some good programs.

There isn't much news from Vanloo. Iowa State being the only school she visited during her stormed-delayed venture to the U.S. in January. Others school would be hard set to connect with her after State's early and strong connection. She was offered a Euro-Pro contract last year and passed on it for now. I wouldn't count her in by a long shot, but these European players seem to take a while to decide and late.

On a side note UCONN was testing the waters with the best Australian HS player Gretel Tippet and she went Pro.

And considering Vanloo, Moody, and Blaskowsky are all capable of playing 1 or 2 and Mansfield and Cole will be gone after the 11-12 season, all three could come in and get plenty of playing time and we could STILL get another PG/combo guard for 2012 or 2013 and not be overcrowded.

Not to be a Facebook stalker, but a friend asked her straight up about it a few days ago on her wall:

"Tu vas jouer au Iowa state ?" -- French for "Will you be playing for Iowa State?"

and she answered:

"je ne sais pas encore:)" -- French for "I do not know yet :)"

That's about the only news there is. I've resorted to using google translate to see if she's saying anything about it, and what I posted above is the extent of it. :) It looks like she usually uses Dutch, but that particular friend is apparently French.
