2007-2008 Record Change

Hypocrits? During the season you ripped Wes on several occasions for playing bad. You seemed very angry that us Cyclone fans thought he was our best player. Now that he is leaving, he is a great guy, great teammate, great player, and is doing what is best for him according to you. How can you publicly call him out on a message board and then publicly back him a couple months later? Who is the hypocrit?

Also you take shots at our program and coaches which is what people don't like. 90% of your posts are negative related.

I think you are over-reacting. Calling Cyfan13 out like that is totally uncalled for. She is a great member of the Cyclone Fanatic family and I don't see her as being a negative poster at all. I must admit that I haven't read everything posted in the last 2 days but to bash on Cyfan13 is just plain ridiculous.

Ok, moving with the hints, the second loss to Alabama is in OT, so whatever happened, happened after the game I'm guessing. The problem with the Las Vegas hint is that any sleaze could have been in LV representing any school - agents, boosters, etc. who knows?

I guess the good news with this possible hint is that him leaving has nothing (or little) to do with any misdiagnosis. If there is foul play, I hope the NCAA comes down like a ton of bricks on Kentucky or whomever is poaching.

moving on with the hints, I am going with the theory that a Kentucky scout was at the game watching Bama and got in Wes's head after the loss to bama in Las Vegas

It's like CLUE "Cyclone Addition" I think Kentucky did it, with the metal pipe in the locker room after the game...

And what's the difference between what he just did and what I did? He's telling you part of the story, and saying guess the rest of it because I can't really disclose it yet. That's exactly what I did. Bunch of hypocrits on this site!
Well, first, you must remember that we are all Iowa State fans. Most of us were Iowa State fans before you were born. So we tend to support Iowa State over one particular player. You are not a life-long Iowa State fan. You are a friend and a fiance of Iowa State players. Your view point should be and is different from most of ours.

There are two people on this board that I read everything they write. You and kg. You guys come from two totally different places and perspectives, but I have read enough to know that both of you have 'inside' information. Due to both of your biases, I think I get about half the 'real' truth from each of you. And that's cool. It's like a mystery!

One question and a point. If, in the VERY unlikely chance, that there would be some money issues with this whole thing, do you know that your good friend Wes would be telling you that? Or do you think that we think you would be telling us if you knew that? I tend to think that Wes was unhappy and he had some family members pushing him and doing his dirty work for him. If so, I wish him luck, but I certainly am not left with warm and fuzzy feelings for him. I especially do not appreciate the fact that he did not let anyone know until the end of the year......that's just screwing over his current team mates because the coaches can't go out and get anyone any good. (Although we did get Wes in a situation like that and that worked for 2 years). Finally, you posted in the thread that got closed that you were seeing Wes today. Is he in Ames? Are you in Texas? Is he just flying all over the place?

Anyway, this is probably coming off a little meaner than I intend, but I just wanted to make a point.

Cool, I'm going to toss Arnaud under the bus, make more than one innuendo that Chizik is not the right man for the job and then later say Arnaud is a fantastic player and a great guy.

We'll see...

- How much I get ripped on.
- How much credibility I have left.

I can see why you would think that. If you would read her posts from the last 6 months. You would know what I am talking about.

I don't understand how saying Wes played a bad game has anything to do with me thinking he is a good guy, teammate or player? He is a great player. I never said he wasn't. I would say he played a bad game or that I thought other people played better all around games...Still don't see how that equals being a hypocrit. And on top of that, I would say the same things on this message board to his face.

My negative posts are in reply to all of your, and other people's, negative posts. You are negatively takling about Wes and some were even talking bad about Pri. The only difference is that I am on the opposite side of the argument than you and that makes you mad. I'm sorry that not everyone agrees with you.

I'm pretty sure it was all of you PRAISING Wes that have now FLIP FLOPPED. He went from being a savior to the most hated person at ISU...

The fact is there are some people pissed off for one reason, and other people pissed off for other reasons, and a lot of people are getting attacked for no reason.

As I said yesterday, I'm not angry at all. I appreciate what is being shared. If Wesley really has lost his love for the game he needs to move on. It's not his job to entertain me and it's not his job to save this program. It is the coaching staff's problem and at this point a commitment from Maymon or somebody would be lovely..

I have not said one neg comment about Pri. I don't know why anyone would. I will say that Wes is a coward, weak, and needs to grow up. If he wants to make it in the NBA than he will need to grow up fast b/c he does not have the go nads to make it IMO. You are going to have much tougher things happen in your life than you not getting a long with your coach. You have to handle it better than he did/has.

As for your previous comments. It wasn't after a certain game. You on different occasions seemed mad that people thought Wes was our best player. You ripped on his game to help make your point. I PM'ed you asking you to stop as you are part of the Cyclone family and said you should not be saying these things publicly. You just laughed. Now that he is leaving he is a great player and you have all these wonderful things to say about him. You ride the fence 13.

I don't think it was mean at all. You stated your opinion without sounding like an a hole. Thank you for that. And I understand what you're saying. I'm not telling the whole story and either is kg, but I think it is actually for the better of the program. I don't disclose everything I know, and I don't think I should. It's Wes' personal life, and if he decides to tell everyone why he left, he will. As stated, I don't agree with what Wes did and I understand why people would be upset. I just think it's ridiculous that a bunch of "adults" and "fans" can turn so quickly to calling a player names and disrespecting him when they don't know the entire story. But that's just my opinion.

And Wes came back to Ames yesterday for a couple of days. He drove.

We praise Wes for playing through pain. We call him out for the way he left the program. By running away and hiding. There is a huge difference. You HAVE to be able to see the difference

Um, with good reason! I said from the start I don't hate him and don't think he is a coward. But how he's gone about this is very cowardly and shows he has a lot of guilt regarding this.

It also seems to be someone very close to him (chill, not referring to you) was "forcing his hand" on this - especially with him just signing his lease and scholly papers recently and then jetting out of town.

Agreed.

I still say his brother had more to do with this than Wesley him self. This just isn't the type of character Wesley has shown over the last 2 years.

I do, but you must be able to see the difference in my opinion that Wes wasn't the best player on the team and him being a great person. My opinion was simple: I didn't think Wes was the best all around player on our team. I would critique his game to prove that point if he had a bad game...But once again, what does that have to do with him being my friend and a great guy? Because he is my friend I have to say he was the best player and he never made a mistake in a game? I never once said anything bad about the person Wes was. All I did was point out his flaws in his basketball game...Don't see how those two things are connected.

I'm in your boat...I'm not angry either. More intrigued by the whole thing than angry. I never thought Wes was the best thing since sliced bread as many on this board did. He had the ability to be a special player, but I don't think he was there yet and I'm not sure he will get there. He has much to improve on including (DEFENSE, create off the dribble, and taking SMART shots). The talent is/was there, but it is unknown if he will realize it or just be another guy that wore the uniform.

In the meantime, the entertainment value in these thread is really keeping me from getting any work done (not that that's a bad thing) and I'm eager to see the conclusion of the Alabama-UK connection conspiracy thread.

Carry on...

If Wesley Johnson is a great player, and he wasn't the best overall player on our team, then holy crap did we underachieve.

You just might have a point here. I think anger and frustration are clouding a lot of people's judgement (and that doesn't exclude me at all).
