2/22-24 Winter Weather Thread

Yep, I’m at 1:34

As long as the pump and backup battery system keep working, I should be good. Praise be to beer! I’m gonna go watch some TV, drink heavily, and check on the pumps in 15 minutes or so

Agreed. I found out about not having a backup pump the hard way back in 2009 :(

White out conditions here in Ames. Can't imagine what they are like in the country. Wet heavy snow and the winds have picked up. Roads are horrible.

Looks like a hentai with X-ray view.

We’re up to 55 seconds! Take that deity who controls sub pumps!

I’m gonna clean the roof of snow/ice tomorrow
Is there a better way of doing this other than getting on the roof and shoveling it? I'm pretty sure I'll break my neck if I try that

A roof rake. They can come with extensions that can reach out 20-30ft. May be hard to find locally right now though, everything's pretty bought out.

... and so I started to walk into the water. I won’t lie to you boys... I was terrified. But I pressed on! And as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don’t know if it was devine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you CF at that moment, I was a marine biologist/sub pump engineer.

The sea was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli. I got about fifty feet out and suddenly, the great beast appeared before me. I tell you it was ten stories high if it was a foot. As if sensing my presence, it let out a great bellow. I said, "Easy, big fella!" And then, as I watched it struggling, I realized that something was obstructing its pumping. From where I was standing, I could see directly into the eye of the great F̶i̶s̶h̶ pump.

Well then, from out of nowhere, a huge tidal wave lifted me, tossed me like a cork, and I found myself right on top of it - face to face with the great sub pump. I could barely see from the waves crashing down upon me, but I knew something was there. So I reached my hand in... felt around ...and pulled out the obstruction.

It was not a Titleist.

Too much beer...
