#11 Oklahoma @ #3 Iowa State

Z looked the aggressor the whole match. He got in three or four times and the OU wrestler just did all he could to not be taken down.

Another misinformed post. It is a freakin heavyweight match!!! All of them are like this!!! It is basically tied as Z gets to start on bottom in the third.

All of them are like this huh. Maybe with our passive wrestling style they are. Z was better than an OT win against this guy. He was darn lucky he escaped with a W.

While this post was too close for comfort, I did enjoy "15-12 good guys, 16-15 bad guys" part. That made this bareable...:skeptical:

Did you watch the match? Z was actually taking a lot of shots. The OU wrestler simply grabbed a leg and hung on for dear life. Not much Z can do if the guy wont wrestle.

Well I was at the meet and it seemed like after Cylers match, the momentum got rolling a little bit. I was not happy with the way Tyler wrestled at all. He seemed out of it totally and was not aggressive at all. Fanthorpes injury appeared to be a hamstring. Was grabbing the back of his thigh and could hardly walk on it. Gallick was ok but pulled out the W. Mitch, well lets just say it was Mitch. Cyler totally dominated his guy and made him look like a fool. Reader started off with a 5 point move right away and put his guy straight to his back. Jon wrestled pretty well and should of gotten a tech fall. Burks match was a little boring but he hung in there but just simply got beat. Ward has a lot of heart and continues to work hard to get wins. Varner is a stud and just manhandled his guy. But Varner is gonna need some work to take home a title. And Big Z....WOW, this was a hell of a match. Z was by far the aggressor in this match and would of been sad to of seen him lose but he pulled it out in the end with the second sudden death of OT. Overall a good win but this team needs some fire. When they get fired up they are hard to beat. But if there opponent takes control it could be scary.

Take a look at some heavyweight scores. For the most part, they are low scoring and fairly boring.

isu2007- who do you think will take fanny's spot? personally i am pulling for valles, not only because he used to sit next to me in FSHN, but because he knocked off the defending DII champ. lets hope fanthorpe/s injury is minute, though.

also, watching penn state vs indiana on the BTN, i thought it was normal for ISU to get the amt of fans it does. this meet on TV looks like a dang high school meet. I practically had that many fans to watch me personally in high school.

I would like to see Valles too. But I am guessing Shaffer will get the nod if needed. Shaffer would be a good replacement. Let's just hope Fanthorpe makes a quick comeback.

ISU's Wrestling Problem:

Every match or tournament, we have 1 or 2 wrestlers that do not wrestle up to their capabilities. I'm not saying they wrestle bad, they just have close losses that they need to win.

If Cael can get all 10 wrestlers on the same page at the same time, ISU would be unstoppable.

This is accurate IMO.

This was the first time I had seen our guys wrestle live this year. Clark did not look good last night. I don't know what it is, but our lightweights (Clark, Fanthorpe, Mueller, and for a bit Gallick) all seemed to be passive. I know this has gone on for a while now, but wow. The last few duals it seems like we don't get started until Cyler takes the mat. What's the difference? Are the lights struggling to make weight? Do we have lightweight coaches these guys wrestle against like Cody and Cael at the mid-upper weights? They just seem much less ready and prepared.
