Where does Iowa St go next for a top-end RB?

I haven't seen really anything on the RB front besides the guys we have coming back and trying to get a visit from a UW and Monmouth rb.

This is a good question and has merit! Running back seems to be a focal point for the new OC.

Glad you asked this. I’ve been wondering about, and starting to worry about, the same. Love the philosophy of investing heavily and early in the OL, but we’ll need to be in on a few good RBs soon, right? Haven’t seen anything about RB interest or potential visits. Have already addressed WR with another good one set to visit.

It’s interesting you don’t see his name on staying OR leaving lists.
I'm totally speculating but I feel like he's showing patience and waiting to see where the chips fall, whether it be Iowa State or another opportunity. Hopefully it's ISU.

I'm also curious about this Nelson I've seen mentioned a few times. I may have missed it previously but does he have (or had) a visit planned to Iowa State?

There are still several really good backs available that i think Iowa st can be in on especially with what the line looks like. If we can land a big time back, that would put the cherry on top for me!

Time travel to 2005 or so and make sure Troy Davis is married and his wife is pregnant with a boy. While on the time travel trip, stop by and ask me to set up a scholarship/NIL fund for baby Davis invested in an aggressive stock fund.

I think the coaches probably went hard on the offensive line knowing there are probably no big name game breaking running backs they can get. So you do the next best thing, get lineman that can make holes for a guy like me to run through them. Hopefully we get a few servicable type running backs until we can get some good recruits to fill that position in a few years.

I think it is a sound strategy for completely rebuilding a team on a budget. Spend your money on a solid offensive line, and that will make affordable running backs look pretty darn good.
