#2 in KenPom, #3 in Net Rankings

These, KP and to a slightly lesser extent the net, are more predictive rather than evaluations of resume. Style points overvalued over resume/sor or AZ would be #1 (tacking on a blowout of #20 Auburn last night). Michigan…and now even ISU…are astronomical on margin of victory vs schedule right now.
It’s probably not possible for a single ranking to be both in a great way. The NCAA tourney committee is fantastic and highly evolved compared to the total sham CFP committee, but if it were me I’d just find the absolute best evaluator of sor/sos/resume and then the best predictive model that is probably KenPom and lean into both of them equally as tools but not concrete rankings.
I won't expect it, but one or two #1 votes I think is realistic. ISU did beat the (previous) No. 1 as a road team, after all. Three voters last week had Iowa State #5, four at #6.
I don't pay much attention to coaches poll, talking AP strictly.

We should, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't. Seems like most pollsters look at last week's opinion and then move teams accordingly without questioning whether this week shed a ton of new light on the quality of a team.
Everyone should do themselves a favor and go listen to some national college basketball podcasts today. ISU is prominent in all of them. It sucks the footbal program stuff is occupying local media, which is totally understandable, because ISU rarely gets this kind of love and attention. Saturdays win was seismic. Soak it up and enjoy it.
