The Minnesota thread had me thinking - what musician would you like to have seen in their prime?
Prince or Bowie for me.
Prince or Bowie for me.
I was on YT the other day and Proud Mary by Ike and Tina popped up and a comment was something like "Tina was the female Elvis. Could sing, dance, captivate a crowd."Elvis, Tom Petty (actually never got the chance to see Tom Petty, the last time he was in Des Moines was right before he passed away, and I didn't hear that he was coming until the day before).
Yeah, I was not into her type of music at all back in the 80's when I became aware of her, but she broke through that barrier pretty easily. Still amazing to go back and listen to her.I was on YT the other day and Proud Mary by Ike and Tina popped up and a comment was something like "Tina was the female Elvis. Worth it for the Dickey Betts solos alone...Today, I'd probably choose the Allman Brothers in their prime.
I was supposed to see them opening for Iron Maiden but they couldn't do the show so another band filled in (Hurricane)Saw GNR 4 times from 88-92

I saw them at Hilton 20ish years ago. Sebastian Bach opened with some quasi type of strippers. Axel didn't take the stage for what felt like hours after they were done.I was supposed to see them opening for Iron Maiden but they couldn't do the show so another band filled in (Hurricane)![]()
