Wrestling NIL collective is now open called Cardinal & Gold Collective

So this is what confuses me. So this is the collective then paying the school for the school to pay the athletes?
I am not sure how the bookkeeping works for this. But as of right now, the collective is still earning the money. Now that the Settlement is being "done", this could possibly change

Okay so here would be my question... collective earns the money like it's currently doing and passes that onto the school to do whatever is necessary to comply... here is my question The full amount of money earned by the collective will that go 100% to the wrestling program and not mixed into the pool?

This all seems to be a pretty clear violation of the settlement terms (funneling donations to athletes above the approved ‘cap’) but I know nothing.

ThinK you're missing a piece of the puzzle. I believe the idea would be of the ~$20mil, wrestling will be allocated "$X" but it's only payable IF they raise it themselves. So I think they are saying the collective (or whoever) is responsible for raising the money for the AD to pay out whatever amount they've allocated to wrestling as part of the cap. If they don't raise it, then it doesn't get paid and the AD collectively is "below" the cap by that amount.

I would assume the answer is yes, up to the amount that is allocated to wrestling. Money beyond that amount, I suppose either the collective or school holds onto to fund the next year's amount or could go elsewhere (I suppose RTC could be the other avenue)

NIL agreements, including those established through the SWARM Collective, that were signed prior to the approval of the settlement can remain in place and do not count towards the revenue sharing cap provided payments are received by student-athletes prior to July 1, 2025.

Correct. 100% of the money earned by the Collective or allocated to wrestling will be used for wrestling

If what you guys are saying is true and the collective will need to pay the university to help with the rev share $ then Iowa St wrestling is in trouble. I'm not sure what you guys are saying is true or not. @Tigerguy_ what u hearing

No they aren't. I'm not sure you, and many others, realize how much money the C&G and CRTC have access to.

No what is being said is the collective will continue to help in the same way that they are doing they aren't the only thing funding.

I am not sure the Iowa State (We Will) side will fundraise or have the whole $20 million raised this year. I am thinking that Wrestling may get a share of that non raised NIL budget to use if The Cardinal & Gold Collective can raise the money. If would help get around some of the monitoring by the clearing house. But I am not sure what Collective donors are considered tied to Iowa State and which are independent. (Not sure of the word that @brentblum used)

NIL $ will have to get by the clearinghouse regardless. Rev share $ won't but the amount of $ a wrestler will get won't be much
