How the **** anybody can claim college basketball is more watchable than the NBA is beyond me. I like college basketball more because I care way more about ISU than any NBA team and there are fewer games so each game has more meaning, but in terms of actual enjoyment of watching the athletes NBA is so much better and it's not close. The offense in college is ******* horrible, and it has nothing to do with NBA teams not playing defense. Plenty of guys in college basketball get wide open shots and brick them over and over, and NBA players hit high degree of difficulty shots with defenders all over them routinely.

The problem with college offense is compounded by the high roster turnover you see year after year. Teams that are more defense oriented with a slower pace are at an advantage because it's easier to win that way with a roster of guys that aren't use to playing together.

This is extremely inaccurate.

Last year 39% of NBA shots were from 3 compared to over 40% for college basketball. And CBB they shoot 33% from 3 on average versus 36% in the NBA, despite the NBA being a more difficult shot.

NBA will iso if they get a matchup they like on the perimeter. But there’s a lot of action up to that point. CBB has a lot more 1-on-1 poor quality shots during a game imo

Do you have ft% stats? Just by perception ft shooting seems horrible in cbb.

This is also wildly inaccurate. NBA playoffs viewership is up 12% over last year and is the second-highest rated playoffs since 2011.

Outside the NFL and the WNBA, there’s not another league/sport in the U.S. seeing those kind of increases
YoY is a bad metric for the NBA considering how horrendous their ratings have been lately..

NFL says hello...

Who gives a *uck about the rest of the world?? We live in America. NBA comes after NFL and college sports, basically tied with MLB..
NBA as a whole has a larger following than CBB in the US. The tourney is the only time CBB is in the same breath. We're blinded by being ISU fans first. I watch more CBB than NBA but that's not the norm and simply because I don't miss any ISU games.

And who gives a ... uh everyone, especially those who make money off the given product.

NFL is 3rd on the list globally behind soccer and the NBA. Hell have you seen the rabid following of Cricket in India?

I think it’s a regional thing as well. Cities with teams are certainly more into the NBA than CBB. For those without a “home” team, you’ll be more interested in college sports because that’s your local interest. College sports are almost non-existent in cities, but we don’t see that in Iowa.
