They dont give much heads up on where they'll be. Its honestly pretty awesome.

Would love to see more bands do the same thing.

I thought about going up but by the time I had seen it I knew it'd be a madhouse up there (and, from the videos I saw, i wasn't wrong. Would not have been able to see or hear much of anything). They had a few thousand show up on just a few hours notice.

If I lived closer and heard about it in time, I’d totally have done it. What’s with shows like this? How do they make money? The concept is really intriguing to me as the “why”.

I think they charged like $5-10 and probably had super low expenses.

But I think there's a good chance its part of a viral marketing effort for future stuff they'll be doing.

Anyone make it to the All American Rejects pop-up in Ames yesterday?
Had a great time! Unfortunately a girl overdosed and they ended the concert early. News article said she survived after three doses of Narcan

5,000 people showed up and maybe 200 could actually see the band due to the setup. Audio was still good, great atmosphere. Also there was a singular porto-potty for the entire crowd. Glad I only paid $5!

Not intending to derail, but my brother found some of my old stubs at the ol' homestead. Check the prices. Also had a Dylan in Omaha for $10 and Yes for $5.50, but they weren't fully legible.

Haha, just found some of mine. We should start a thread of concert tickets. Sucks you don't get them anymore.

I have a hankering for an outdoor show this summer. Question for you concert junkies: What are the best outdoor venues in the Midwest?

I’ve never been there but I hear Codfish Hollow in Maquoketa is really cool and Redrocks is on my bucket list.

I always forget about Codfish Hollow. Heard nothing but good things. That’s indoor in a barn though right? Never been.

I’ve been to red rocks to see it as I was passing through but never for a show. It’s just a crazy venue. Until you see it, you don’t realize that it’s not actually THAT big.

You’re right, I always thought it was an outdoor venue but looks like it is in a barn.
