I started to watch it once. Got about 10 minutes in and didn't see it going anywhere. Then it kept being referenced and I decided to give it another try. Got about 30 minutes in and still didn't see any point.Napoleon Dynamite was a movie that when it ended I said to myself, "What the heck did I just watch?" But it is strangely addictive.
Napoleon Dynamite is one of those that, right from the jump, you're either into or you're not. I personally love it and think it's great. Especially the after-credit wedding scene with Kip and Lafawnda with the "I love technology" R&B riff. But I get people not liking it.I started to watch it once. The sequels, particularly 8 & 9, make the Jar Jar Binks character seem like Michael Corleone in comparison.
I really struggled through the first 30-40 minutes and just couldn't get into it.Napoleon Dynamite is one of those that, right from the jump, you're either into or you're not. I was surprised because I thought I had read that it was pretty good. I guess people liked that it dealt with mental health issues, but it was a really, really ham-handed approach, with extremely poor editing and the dreadful Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Guess I was spoiled by that gem of a Minecraft.
When I saw this on Reddit, I felt less alone...
Prequel memes.I'll never understand the nostalgia the kids these days have for 1-3.
The dreadful Julia Louis-Dreyfus? I'm not going to try and defend her role in the marvel movies and I dont really care about that, but she's been a major part of two of the best sitcoms of the last 40 years. She's far from dreadful.
Well, she's probably won more awards than any other comedic actress. Does that qualify as good? You're entitled to your opinion, I just don't think you will find many that share it.Okay, then, she's atrocious. I didn't want to go that far because it seemed unkind.
Your mileage varies. I get it. But let's not confuse "popular" with "good", especially in terms of movies or television.

People sometimes forget comic book movies are based on comic books.
Watch this and get back to me . . . . .Don’t even waste anymore time. Worst movie is, River of Death.
Yeah, there are some pretty questionable plotlines and dialogue. The funny story they tell about Paxston's character approaching a twister in his skivvies drunk and throwing his whiskey bottle into the funnel is about as suspect as they get.Twister's plotline is ludicrous. And the scene where the tornado is picking up a fuel tanker semi off the ground but somehow leaves the pickup with Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton inside on the ground is comical.
Saw it in the theater originally. The special effects haven't aged well. But I do like PSH as Dusty and the rest of their tornado chasing crew (Alan Ruck from Ferris Bueller, etc) so it's not all bad.
