You have a better chance to win games in the tournament. Summit League will usually end up as a 15 or 16 seed. Missouri Valley can be in the 11-14 range.

I'm not sure what to think about Willard's grievances. Unless you're at a Big East school (which is where he's headed I suppose), football is always going to demand more of the $$$.

I get these coaches have big egos, but not everyone can coach at a basketball only school, so at some point they have to stop kidding themselves.

He’s complaining about a 3:1 imbalance. Not sure whether that’s a legitimate gripe or not. But you make a fair point.

CFB brings in ~$32M per school, while CBB brings in $8M per school. 3:1 seems like a good deal

Yes. It's obviously easier to win the 10th ranked league with average budgets at $4M than the 21st ranked league with average budgets at $1.6M.

The Valley is a huge step up.

Used to be one year of plausible deniability with a cupboard that empty. With that contract, and that fan base, he might end up regretting the decision to not fulfill his Hawkeye fantasy.

With the portal, I think unless you have a star player, you clean house and start over. I don’t want the old attitude on the new team. I want new guys with goals. TJ did that and it worked great. Got rid of good players just to not have the losing attitude anymore
