***Official 2025 NCAA Tournament Thread***

Man, Bill Self just taught a master class on how not to build a roster. Guessing he’s not going to be sad to push Hunter Dickerson out of the nest.
If Self doesn’t have a return to success next year with HD, his seat will get very warm. HD shouldered a lot of the blame these last 2 years. It didn’t help that you also have offensive zeros in Harris and Adams playing starter minutes.

BM could wait a year and maybe have the KU job.

I got tagged or 'laugh' emojied for posting that they were collectively rated 2nd on several sites behind the SEC (B12 3rd) a while back like they couldn't possibly have some strong teams.

And with the B12 only getting 5 bids it's not outlandish to say it wasn't as strong this season overall.

MU, UW, MSU etc are all capable.

B12 got 7 bids

This is all true, but "doing well" is always about match-ups. The B1G has some decent teams. But I'm not going to annoint them as our new overlords.

Somehow they have 8 teams in and their lowest seed was a 7. They were supposed to win their first round games against double digit seeds. I just don’t understand how they were all seeded that high.

Similar to the Big 12 - the bubble teams didn’t make it. Those slots were dominated by the MWC and SEC this year. MWC getting destroyed as usual.

Kenpom is pretty accurate for seeding overall I think but not sure how much it's actually used by the 'committee' *wink wink. For example MSU is 8th, and a 2 seed.

There was a bunch of rabble about Michigan getting screwed since they won the B1g tourney but they're in the 20s so a 5 seems legit.

The MWC is a fraud.

They use the football money that they get that the Valley and A10 don't get, use it to buy home games to run up their metrics and then artificially inflate their numbers of upper quadrant games and get more bids.

The Valley and A10 would have so much more success with the same number if bids.

The issue with Michigan’s seeded is that they went on a serious run of beating Purdue, Maryland and Wisconsin in 3 consecutive days. If that stretch of beating ranked opponents in the season happened they would have saw a major jump but it was in the big ten tourney so it barley moved the needle.

Not sure if that’s he norm going forward or with all the SEC love there were just 16 teams locked in no matter what happened but it was pretty absurd that they didn’t budge their seed with that showing

Are you forgetting San Diego St plays in the MWC? Yes, the conference as a whole has been bad in recent tournaments, but they are coming off a Finals appearance followed by a Sweet 16.

When is the last time an A-10 team did that?

This being written I do hope that CSU wins today.

But yeah...I'm not surprised that Utah State lost to a higher seed; I am surprised that they got run off the court the way they did.

VCU did make a FF in 2011? But I don't think they were in the A10 quite yet.

They likely did increase their seeding in the Big 10 tourney. What happened the 2-3 weeks before that? All of it evened out for them.

It may have helped a little.

In 2017 ISU was pretty uneven all season and then won their last 10/11 or something including winning the Big 12 tourney but only got a 5.
