Lots of hail in north Ames around the mall area. Pea to quarter size. Ground was almost white. Photo was taken about 30 minutes after the storm went through.

Things have moved south a bit. Looking like a pretty good chunk of Iowa will have a kind of quick blizzard today. Weather.com has, for example, Carroll maybe getting a foot or more, gusts reaching 60 (!) and maybe even thunder. A thunder blizzard! Hang on!

Yeah Weather Underground is showing rain from ~10am changing to snow around 3pm, stopping around 6pm, with not many inches total of anything. Hoping for a whole lot of nothing on my end!
