*** Official #12 IOWA STATE vs #17 BYU Game(Day) Thread ***

We shot 7 FTs the entire game
...and didn’t have any guards who can take someone off the dribble so that makes sense. Keshon and Tamin both does that incredibly well.

Kelderman and Heise....not so much.

They played their asses off today but the skill set change is a bit much to overcome though I'd argue we should never lose scoring 92 in regulation.

Losing sucks, but losing and being left with the “what could have been” feeling down 2 starters is tough to swallow.

Really hope we can get healthy in the next week. Feel confident in Lipsey, but definitely worried about Keshon.

Every conference needs villains. BYU is a solid addition. The Cougars making a deep run in the tourney would reflect well on Iowa State. I want all of our conference mates to succeed. Hard to feel too down about this game with two of our best guards sitting and a third fouling out. Herculean effort from our bench. Gotta let someone else win the Big 12 tourney every once in a while. ;)
Odd, isn't it. Houston comes in and wins the conference their first two year, but they're not hateable like BYU is.

BYU is a jump shooting team.

The ISU Hoiberg jump shooting teams never got to the line like this.
But they aren't really a 'jump shooting team', at least today they were a 'drive it hard, collapse the def, and hit the wide open shooter' team. It just so happens that offense is our cryptonite if executed well.

Injury bug sucks, first team we’ve had in a long time that could be a legit final 4 type team but of course we get injured and it derails things. If Lipsey and Keshon are out it’ll be a very short tourney for us
They can win 2 games without them.

That said I think Lipsey plays.
