They won’t. You can’t win in the tournament like that. Not stringing a bunch of games together anyway. Sooner or later you’ll have a bad shooting night and with no real inside game they will lose.
Yep. Like last year. If BYU goes cold from 3, they're a very beatable team because they don't play D.

Losing sucks, but losing and being left with the “what could have been” feeling down 2 starters is tough to swallow.

Really hope we can get healthy in the next week. Feel confident in Lipsey, but definitely worried about Keshon.

I know I am in the minority but I'd rather Tamin play today and we win the Big 12 Tournament.

Chances are we aren't winning a National Championship so might as well win the tournament we have a chance to win.

Proud of the boys for coming so close without two of their normal starters. Not many teams could hang with a team like BYU under those conditions.

I'm not one to complain about officiating, but a differential of 21 vs 7 free throws is wild; I can't ever remember seeing such a difference and when the game ends in a 4 point loss, it does make you shake your head. Those officials had way too much impact on the final outcome of the game. Not saying the loss was their fault, but it most certainly played a role.

thats just kelderman's inexperience right there

got way too far down in the lane and couldn't get back out. Gotta know where saunders is
he got caught in the lane OVER helping on the drive, bad def miscue there. but he isn't supposed to be playing crunch time minutes for us, we are down two starting guards. Hard to blame Kelderman.

Maybe not a title, but the F4 is definitely in play. For me a successful season would be finishing the season exceeding our recent tournament finishes. I’d sign up for an E8 right now and be over the moon about it.

I'm in the camp that it's a usually a convenient excuse to use making a conference tourney run is the reason you don't escape the 1st weekend.

However; injuries are different from fatigue and soreness when load managing a conference tournament.

Couldn't be prouder of the effort. It took all the guns in BYU's arsenal to beat us today - without arguably our two best perimeter defenders and guards. Love the way Curtis and Milan, and Nate stepped up offensively. If they can shoot and be confident like that next week, we'll be in good shape.
I really am not upset by losing. We now don't have to go through the slugfest with Houston and we get 7 (or 8) days to rest and get as healthy as can be for next week. We should be locked in as a 3 seed with our win yesterday and that showing today. Get ready for the tourney that matters.

As for BYU - when they have a game where they don't shoot 50% from three, they will be eliminated. They don't play D. We scored 92 today with a depleted roster. I personally hope to see an early exit by them.

But they aren't really a 'jump shooting team', at least today they were a 'drive it hard, collapse the def, and hit the wide open shooter' team. It just so happens that offense is our cryptonite if executed well.
That is still a jump shooting team.

The fouls called when BYU drove to kick it out vs the fouls called when ISU drove the lane today...were not equal. That's all I was saying.

Hoiberg ISU teams drove & kicked for 3pt shots like BYU too, but they rarely got to the FT line when they did it.

also BYU has broken my heart twice in 10 days.

We’ve made the sweet 16 after winning the tournament as much as losing the first weekend.

Hate to say it but at this point if we don’t make the E8, it was a disappointing season.

A bit overlooked with the frustration of losing to that group and the refs is that Milan looked very assertive at times and showed some new tricks. Hope he keeps that mojo into the tourney.
The officiating sucked in this game. 22-12 foul discrepancy, which is absolute horse ****.

Their guys had their hands all over our guards impeding drives/riding guys on dribble drives, and we get none of those calls. But Richie Saunders can flop in the lane and get a foul called every time. I wish they'd give Keshon ½ those calls.

Great effort by the guys. But I really hate when you're playing against the zebras as well as your opponent.
