Good Hire I Think

Don’t believe so. Didn’t they lift the rules for staff size for non recruiting positions? I am pretty sure you can have as many staff members as you want for non recruiting positions

I think they did. Not a bad idea to get another defensive coach in the pipelines since you know we are working with borrowed time with Heacock.

My HS had a similar story with a guy named Roger Craig. Something like 248 yards and four TD’s. In one half.

They do that.

Ha! I was too young to have seen him in high school, but the coaches would talk about how Central would tell our team which way Roger was running and we still could never stop him.

There were a lot of Panthers that were surprised to straight pissed that wasn’t who succeeded Farley. This feels like an outstanding get for that role.
@1UNI2ISU probably has the scoop but I heard he wasn’t interested.

NFL guys hated tackling him due to his high explosive knees so I'm sure high school defenders were not fans.

My family has known his brother for years. My dad told me a couple weeks ago that he was getting hired on as an assistant coach here.

I was mildly concerned something was happening to Rasheed, given he was a DL coach over at UNI. Glad to see him onboard.

Been rumors on Heacock eyeing retirement, maybe they are grooming Rasheed now for that. Taking some work off his plate to learn the whole defense a little stronger? Paul was solid as a player, was sad when he left the pack.

You've known for a couple weeks & didn't think to come here to tell us? What the hell, man!

Heacock is unfortunately going to retire at some point. Honestly, we have some great coaches that could take the mantle. Rasheed, Broomfield, and Poteat all seem like they'd do a great job as they have been outstanding position coaches for us.

This is definitely planning for the post Heacock world, IMO.

When Veidt left for an in-conference DC job, that made me strongly suspect that Rasheed was heading for that spot when Heacock retires. We'll need a quality replacement for Rasheed at that point, and getting Paup on staff when he's available seems like a perfect heads up kinda move that we've come to expect from Campbell.

I think this is an awesome get.
