'People are flat-out slobs': Jamie Pollard

The Cubs did that themselves with how they market the bleachers, Philly fans don't need beer to be complete ********. The fights at NFL games are isolated and rare, they just get blown out of proportion because everybody has a 1080p camera chilling in their pocket now.

Studies show that alcohol related arrests and police interventions go down when you sell beer in the stadium. Anecdotal, but you never see a completely bombed person staggering down the stairs to their seats at UNI anymore and it used to be a weekly occurrence.
I can tell you 100% that alcohol in Philly stadiums cause more issues. They have talked about limiting alcohol to certain areas in their stadiums. I have lived in both cities been to numerous sporting events and alcohol takes it to another level. 99% of fans can handle it, but that 1% cant and that strips people of good time.

I have no idea why this is such a big deal, but it falls in the same dumb conversation of intro music, uniforms, JTS stadium seats need painted, etc. If you want to drink in JTS, you can damn near carry a case of beer into that stadium and not get caught. OR join the Sukup area and you can have as many beers as you would like.

Some of our fans need logoff and find some hobbies or something else to ***** about.
(A bunch of stadiums sell beer...)

(Our fan base is passionate about sports, and wishes its stadium sold beer, like many, many other stadiums)

"I don't know why this is such a big deal!!!"

LOL, really!? You don't understand why Iowa State fans care about this and are passionate about this specific topic?

From an interview with the Iowa State Daily. I get what he's saying, but are the people in Johnny's and the Sukup Endzone flat-out slobs too?

I can't think of another Iowa State figure that I've had more of a love/hate type relationship. I really appreciate what he's done and he's obviously knocked it out of the park with TJ and Matt. But the know-it-all **** bugs me. As others have connected the dots on, if you have money he's not worried about your drunken foolishness. If you're Mel Weatherwax, go ahead and try and fight Bill Self. But no beer for the poors-- too unruly.

Time and time again he's made his point clear on his opinion on the common fans.

Those of you headed to KC in 2 weeks... gonna be in for some sticker shock at the P & L. Those beers are pricey!

I'm with him as far as being on the people suck train, I bet most of you guys ******* suck, but I think you should all be able to buy overpriced beer during football games.

We did see the "puke crew" at Arrowhead this past fall for the ISU-KU game. They were cleaning up an area in the ISU section. A female in our group decided that drinking three of the big seltzers was cool. She was smoked come the end of the game. I and her hubby had to help walk her out down from the upper deck. Not cool!!

I'm going to guess if you are puking in the stadium it has less to do with the 12 dollar seltzers you were drinking in the stadium, and more to do with the gallon of fireball you drank outside the stadium. Promoting the tailgate scene but drawing the line at drinking in the stadium is just pure silliness.

This happens all the time in Jack Trice.

“If you can’t refrain from drinking for three and a half hours from the game, then don’t come to the game. I don’t care.”

Not all that goddam long ago we couldn't get people to the games. Now JP doesn't care.

Cool.
That is really odd language from such a high-ranking administrator.

It’s patronizing, and honestly flat out insulting, to, in one instant, read about how much we are struggling in NIL, that we could lose all our players and coach to Indiana if we don’t continue to increase our contributions (which I understand that reality btw)

And then, 2 days later, have to read that the AD, unfathomably, remains unwilling to open the lowest hanging fruit of a revenue source known to man by selling alcohol at the games.

I live out of state, so I personally don’t care about getting a beer at the games. I personally DO care if your are turning down revenue sources for the dumbest reasons possible.
