Job thread

We're all hoping the best for you. Takes some stones to do this publicly and take us all along for the ride. I'm considering a change after 18 years with my current company. It's a scary leap to put yourself out there. Excited to see your victory post in whatever form that takes.
Do it, I changed careers about a year and a 1/2 ago now. Best move I could have made, it took some time to find a great fit thogh beforehand. The only downside has been my work truck is no longer a personal vehicle, but the no on-call has been instead has been great.

You get a partner when it comes to washing dishes. I got a guy I worked with at OC.

Jealous. I haven't had a partner for that all week.

126 notifications, starting to creep up on notification numbers Seinfeld and The Office got. Definitely not in the same company talent wise. :)

Don't blame them. It's not their fault they're second-rate.

So if we show our CF credentials, can we come up and eat?

You guys are getting credentials??

Everything from my dinner break on was rough. Love the place but the isu athlete supper rush puts the busiest day at oc to shame. Got emotional in office with gm and head chef as I was in pretty rough shape physically but superiors are amazing told me tomorrow to come in couple of hours later. They care more about my well-being. This was my longest day on my feet in like 4 months.

But mbb was down 2 starters at Houston and they didn't back down and I'm going to die trying before I quit.

Hopefully your body will adapt to the new load, I’ve found that to be the case after a tough break in period. Hang in there! Do you have great shoes and insoles, anything else your PT recommends?

You got this, Rulzzz! The first few days/weeks will be the most difficult as you learn everything about the job and as your body adapts. But keep your head up and a smile on your face. It's amazing you have great support at work, and we will always be here for additional support whenever you need it

Hopefully each day will get easier and easier for you both mentally and physically. Have a great second day at the job!

Agreed, appropriate footwear is important in comfort when being on your feet for extended periods. Good shoes can be pricey, but well worth it, imo.
CF family is behind you. Best wishes

My shoes right now are not good. Have new ones coming hopefully by end of the week.
Sounds like you're in an industry where you're on your feet a lot. I cannot stress enough how important good shoes are for that type of job. If you need non-slip options, the 840s are what I swear by. If you're in a kitchen, on tile, I would recommend these. Crocs might be godawful ugly, but I've never slipped in them in any wet/slippery conditions.

Good shoes might set you back some, but please understand your human body is more important than your wallet. If you buy a cheap pair just to get by, you're going to be sore and needing a new pair sooner than you'd like.
