The circle has to be between 32 and 42.

Iowa appears to have more strips around the perimeter, outside the circle. Makes the "action" area bigger; no stoppages for a foot/hand on the basketball floor that way.

I wish the additional mat outside the circle was the requirement for all college mats! I get they may not be able to have the XL mats for large tournaments because of floor space, but it would be great if all schools had them for duals.

I despise the octagon mats as there is very little room for wrestling on the edge.

I would have said the same thing earlier but honestly he is a perfect fit as an Iowa guy it seems like now. Then add in getting Bo there the spotlight and show gets that much bigger which he thrives under

One other consideration is the brands are what? 56? They probably have 8-10 years in them? They are in a win quickly mode. They have two more “recruiting waves” (back to back 4 year guys) for each weight outside of portals. With OSU making big changes, Iowa going to have to bring everything in order to not drop to a 2B tier of Michigan, Ohio State, ISU and a couple others.

Anthony Robles would disagree. I hate it as much as most, but the referees just need to call stalling correctly. Some wrestle on their knees and still create offense. Others are doing it to stall. They need to understand the difference.

Iowa will get multiple AA contending transfers next year too. They’ve done it several years in a row now.

Arnold’s asking price probably isn’t worth it.

I don’t think Arnold would leave. I would think PK would leave before Arnold. I think they really like Gabe Arnold and I do believe he has the ability to be a 4x AA

PK beat out Gabe. He’s not leaving. I don’t think Arnold is leaving either though.
