I honestly don’t know as it’s more of a broad statement, the 4-4-2-2 thing was already proposed so I’m sure that will be on the table. That being said the Big12 and ACC already turned that option down once so maybe it’s something different but I kinda doubt it

This is the result of decades of unchecked rules violations. When the SEC has allowed teams to pay players under the table with no investigation or penalty, of course they’re going to develop into bigger names than other leagues. Same goes for the top teams in the Big10. Their cheating wasn’t as widespread as the SEC, but certain teams certainly took advantage of the leadership vacuum.
Or, even more so, they have the flagship programs from the states that care the most about CFB. They have more fans, and their fans are more rabid, and that is due to a number of reasons, but their local demographics is numero uno.
Everyone has been cheating in some sort of manner since forever.
The real answer is look no further than where the nations best recruits come from and where they go play. The South dominates which leads to wins and creates brands. The Big 10 has the population and alumni to their advantage so despite not having the success until recently they get huge tv numbers.
I highly doubt the Big 12 and ACC turn that down if it's actually on the table this time.
And really, they shouldn't. The SEC and Big 10 breaking away would ruin everything officially and formally, period. And they seem willing to do that (even though I think it would make them less money) because a large part of realignment is being driven by these administrations' desire to be both exclusive and injurious to the schools they look down on. Greg Sankey and (maybe to a lesser extent) Tony Petiti want to inflict harm on the schools outside of their leagues, just because they can.
So if they offer you something meaningful, I say you take it. Because if you push back, they'll find some way to blow this all up and ruin it for everyone.

B12 and ACC have no real choice on the matter no matter how ridiculous the proposal is, whether it be unfair revenue sharing or effin multiple/unbalanced CFP auto bids. SEC/ESPN & B10/Fox have bullied their way into this position under their separation threat.
And this isn't about Sankey and Pettit wanting to inflict harm, it is ESPN and Fox and their desire to minimize their CFB payouts without Amazon and others entering the CFP space. Sankey and Pettit are their puppets.
CBS sports has an interesting story about travel in the Big 12, ACC, and the BIG10. The more travel, the more loses. The top teams in the ACC, have not gone west very far. Will this problem, not be a problem, or cause more problems as time goes on?
Here is the link to the story. As noted, the coast-to-coast travel for ACC and B10 teams is worse than what the NBA and MLB teams endure given they usually spend 1 or 2 full weeks on their extended road trips while CBB & VB teams generally spend 4 days on their trips.
Another avoidable absurdity with the made-for-TV mega-conferences which foolishly had FB as the only objective in the creation of them.

And another part of this is the NBA and MLB and Hockey players are professionals, this is their job. Athletes from colleges are also students? They might have classes to be concerned about passing so they can play? I would think that the schools do everything they can to keep grades in good shape.
Why would they cancel this if that were the case? It would just be baked in.

my guess is they'll rotate opponents each year. Guess they could of kept 1 game.
Could also be a sign SEC going to 9 conf. games, too
