The only reason I would disagree is he turned down Kentucky because family didn’t want to leave. Is he really going to take a worse job than that a year later.Drew to Indiana makes so much sense.

I'm guessing he's made enough money and has been at Gonzaga for over 35 years.
That's probably what it comes down to. How much longer does he want to coach (he's 62) and would he want to move across country. He might be more prone to take a job like UCLA, Utah or Arizona State than IU. Although, I would expect IU will be willing to pay someone a big chunk of money. Maybe they'll call Danny Hurley (aka Bobby Knight Jr.).
He's got it too good at Gonzaga IMO.If the Indiana job opens up why wouldn’t someone like Mark Few be interested? I just think Few has done about all he can there. Maybe he’s ultimately happy and will retire there.
Unless USC steps it up could that coach be on the hot seat too? Maybe not.
Indiana is going to throw the world at Scott Drew. I can see him taking it this time.
Minnesota may not open if he gets 3ish more.
Hope he takes it
Getting closer to retirement. Maybe take a chance at winning there late in his career. Why would he take it now though. He has passed on it multiple times
Just built a new house in Waco and his parents have moved there. Combine that with the new arena, I highly doubt he leaves BU where he has won a national title and just as capable of doing it again there as he would be at IU (which is an overrated job).Indiana is going to throw the world at Scott Drew. The guy says it's 80% likely it'll be one of the guys on his list and then puts Greg McDermott on there. Why do they bother posting something if they are just going to shoot their credibility to **** with what they write?TJ mentioned.

Teamed up with @davidwcobb.bsky.social to put out an initial list of names for Indiana to consider. This list will morph behind the scenes over the next month, but I'd say there's an 80% chance one of these guys is the next coach of the Hoosiers. Just a feeling based on sources in the past 48...bsky.app
I wouldn't be so sure on Mac. He all but took Ohio State a few years ago and there's still friction with the AD regardless of the last contract extension. Plus, with where he's at in life, why not take $30M from Indiana and if you wash out in 4 years, you just retire. The guy says it's 80% likely it'll be one of the guys on his list and then puts Greg McDermott on there. Baylor is a great job right now because of him, Indiana sucksJust built a new house in Waco and his parents have moved there. I’m not sure there’s a school TJ would leave Iowa State for.TJ mentioned.

The usual. There's never though money for facilities and all that. They've also got very, very different personalities which creates friction. What’s his beef with the AD?
You win at Indiana and the money is endless for whatever you want to do.Baylor is a great job right now because of him, Indiana sucks

It's a GREAT job, they just can't stop stepping on their own dicks...
I get the comparison, but IMO football and hoops are entirely different animals in general due to roster size and how that equates to building an elite roster. It only takes 8-10 solid players to build an elite basketball team. And really only 2-3 All-Conference level players to be a Top 10 team. Whereas in football it takes 40+kids that can step on the field and not be over their head, plus 20ish freshman/sophomores that will someday be capable of starter minutes. It’s a great job but it also has a Nebraska football past its prime feel to it too. They’ve haven’t been past the Sweet 16 in 20+ years and it’s been 8+ years since they’ve made the Sweet 16.
All of the built in advantages, similar to 1990s Nebraska football, are gone. To me, they aren’t much different than any other Top 25 program - if you hire the right coach, it works. If you don’t, they are mediocre at best.
Is Indiana that much of a better job than Baylor? Baylor is not hurting for money and they don't have the insane expectations that Indiana fans have. You win at Indiana and the money is endless for whatever you want to do.
