So ACC and SEC teams were tampering as usual? I though the only rule of the transfer portal (aka Wild Wild West) was that you couldn't contact a player until his name actually showed up IN the portal?

Well deserved contract extension.
That said, I hope Campbell is up to the challenge of meeting rising expectations. The more he accomplishes, the more we’re going to expect from him. Now that he’s broken the 10-win barrier that no ISU coach has broken before, more of those seasons as well as bringing home a conference championship is going to become an expectation.

Not among educated fans. 10 win seasons will always be desired, but not expected.

IF SEC and ACC and big ten are tampering. Rocco and the rest of the guys need to drop the names of those schools. This has to end. I don't think we are tampering and if so someone would drop our name.
Glad to have Campbell wrapped up. I get mad at Matt for his stuburness and his inability to adjust to certain things, Howerver, it's not like we have top coaches lined up to take our job and I think we are good with Campbell. He seems to want to be a Cyclone.

For all the faults I bestow upon CMC... He's by far the best coach in ISU Football history and has shown loyalty to us all over the years.

Yeah, i wish those schools could get punished....but my guess is it was through channels that would have no paper trail back to the school. But it would be cool if JP/Yormark used this as a stunt to show we are trying to do things "the right way" in Ames (Matt staying when he could leave, players staying, etc).
Same thing was once said of winning seasons and bowl appearances. Decades later winning seasons and bowl appearances are the barest of minimums, and fans get upset if it’s only 7 wins and a bowl loss. Rising expectations are a real thing. And yes, 10 win seasons and conference championships are a high bar, but the more often Campbell approaches that bar, the more likely that becomes the expectation.
There are ways to tamper without running afoul of the rule. Have a player or booster contact the player and let them know that if they enter the portal school XYZ would be interested. The school officials aren't making the contact. Could also have your collective head do it but you have to be careful since you aren't supposed to be coordinating with them.
Wish we could find out those schools, and have someone start calling them and offering players money. Just so the coach knows other can poach their players as well.
