Money is important but there are two others things that also attract players. Playing time and winning. They transfer to play and you get better exposure when you win and play big games. The CCG should be good for that.

If you cant look at our schedule next year and see 9-10 wins, im not sure what you are looking at.

TCU, OSU, AZ, SD, and AkSU will all be wins. @Cincy, UI, KSU, KU, SHOULD be wins

BYU and @CU are the games that concern me the most. Depending on the time of year, ASU may not even want to be in Ames if its late november.

Same as this year, 9-10 wins are definitely possible, so are 7-8

Agree with you on Az, SD, ArkSU, and probably OSU

Not sure you can say KU is a should win considering we havent beaten them in a long time. Cincy, Iowa, KSU will probably be tossups imo.

Unless Campbell can take ISU to the next step and be a physically dominant team, there is not a team in the Big12 we can't beat and be beaten by! Not much difference between a 6 & 10 win team.

Agree with this. We can sit here and prognosticate who will be good and bad. But it's a crapshoot if this season is any indication.

What's with the Sama hate? Hansen averaged 5.0 yds/carry, Sama 4.7. Not much different. I like Hansen more, but it's not a big gap.

Sama never did anything worthwhile when the game was on the line. His stats were inflated with big runs after games were already decided.

they moved him to receiver. Their qb recruiting has really sucked (coincidentally, I'm sure) since Brian Ferentz became qb coach.

Lester couldn't possibly be worse but that bar is so low that it's on the ground. It would be nice to have a league average qb for a change.

League average in the tiny ten Clark……. Is pretty freaking poor QB. There are not 9 good QBs …. Sukeyes have the worst or 2 worst for most of last 5 years, and that’s with terrible QB players in the waste (west) division before this year

I just think that the staff had the right read on Sama when they were recruiting him as a CB. Then he blew up for a million yards in the state title game. He definitely has NFL RB speed, but lacks RB instincts. I guess Nwangwu did too and he finally figured it out as a SR. I just think that if he wants to play in the league, it’s at CB and not at RB.

IF he could make that switch, then you have a starter opposite Williams and Hansen would be the primary back, with Lee, Peppers, Flora filling in plus whoever they find in the portal.

I would disagree that X figured it out as a senior. He was flat out terrible and most Iowa fans were done with him by Week 4. Dude got burned more regularly than an Applebee's sirloin.

Hansen is also at 4.7yds/carry in his career.

But they were consistent yards, Hansen is a lot more like that, but Sama is getting there.

Not hating, but Hansen was almost always positive yardage, and a more capable runner inside the tackles with this offensive line. Sama more hit and miss.

Which existing Defensive Ends and Linebackers on the existing roster do you think can be 2nd Team All Big 12 or 1st Team All Big 12 next year?

Caleb Bacon had 4 strong games in his first year playing, thats it. Rest of the group gets hurt a lot and is ineffective. Our linebackers looked like a joke against Memphis in the bowl game last year. They got exposed Saturday big time. The answer is zero, and if we can agree that's likely the case we should look in the portal.

Our leading tackler at LB was Kooper Ebel with 57 tackles in reg season (that isn't good enough).

Our leading sack guy was an INTERIOR d lineman in JR Singleton with 4. Find me lots of top ten defenses in the college game and NFL where your leading sack guy gets 4 sacks.. again, you won't. A leading sack guy should be pushing 8-10.

Montgomery would routinely turn like 3 yard losses into 5 yard gains seemingly every other carry. He was special.

I think Iowa State can do much better than Sama and Hansen and history shows that. I trust Campbell and getting a star again.
