Yes and no. Clear as mud. He’s done great things here, and we could very well do worse. But to get to the next level we need to start being competent when it matters most and we just can’t seem to reach that.

As great as this season was it'll take the perfect storm for Campbell to take us to the promise land he's a good coach but obviously not a great one.

I don’t know that this is true. I think the 2020 team likely wins this game. Tough to not take advantage of any opportunity you get though.

This is the ultimate fake ID season. It isn’t just that OU and UT left, ISU also dodged the top 3 other teams in the league.

Its a good season for sure, but in the same way a 7-5 season was in the round Robin Big 12.

Yes, I would say this ISU team wins 7-8 games in the old alignment. We took advantage this year of schedule and maxed out, but today (and the KU game) have exposed us.

it's really funny that 5 years ago I was like "no, never, he's ISU for life... etc". it's telling that now, even on ISU's first ever 10-win season, I have mixed emotions about the idea. Campbell has proven you can win in Ames. But can he ever win the big games? 9 years into his career and i'm still waiting not just for that, but to stop making the same mistakes.

The schools you listed don't have to sell themselves based on fan base. They have money and history. Big difference.

I think this could have been a completely different game if we had scored on the first drive of the second half to make it 17-24.

Instead , fumble, short field, down three touchdowns and throw the game plan out the window. We’ve looked like a duck out of water ever since.
