Football Attendance Against Cincinnati

I was basically offered a ticket for free, but with a 2 hour drive to Ames and then back, with not great weather...just wasn't gonna happen. And that ticket was free. End of the day there are just a lot of dudes like me that love the Clones but also love my couch and big screen and snacks in the fridge. This is the first year in well over 25 years I've not made a single game. Kinda sucks, but I just don't have to go anymore, happy to watch on tv.

The weather was honestly great for a November game.....it maybe got down to the mid to low 40s during the game but that's not out of the ordinary, especially when the game was at night.

The two losses definitely took the wind out of the sails although the student section was packed pretty full at the start of the game. I noticed people started clearing out about midway through the 2nd quarter, and it's not because they were going out to tailgate and come back in....they just left the game altogether.

I stayed in my seat till the very end but I think the first half was a bit of a snoozer and people didn't want to be in the cold anymore (it really wasn't that cold if you were dressed for the occasion).

High cost of tickets? You could get into the game for $10 Saturday. It’s night game fatigue, especially in November. It would have been full in September.

If you were patient enough or knew where to look, you could have had good seats free of charge.

I had some tickets to sell so I was on the various forums, and I figured attendance wouldn't be great when I saw people struggling to sell parking passes.

It was definitely the weather. I was texting several people before the game that usually are there. Every single one of them said it was cold and the wind that kept them home.

One big factor is the teams are playing are not bringing anyone to the game, Cincinnati may have had a couple hundred fans tops. Outside of KSU and ISU, few teams have many fans that travel to games. Its difficult for ISU to sell out a late season game when we are getting little to no help from the opposing fan base purchasing tickets.

I think people are really overlooking the effect the opponent has on this, too. Nobody is gonna get excited about seeing Cincy come into town. Period.
this years home slate is awful....and that visitors section has been mostly empty for every game. Apparently no one other than K-State and Oklahoma State fans know how to get to Ames, IA.

The crazy part is that most of the Big 12 destinations can fly direct into DSM and then it's at the very most an hour drive up to Ames.

Next years slate is at least halfway decent with Iowa, BYU, and Kansas coming to town. BYU fans will be here in droves, as they are no matter where they're playing.

The time of the game had more to do with it than anything. People are over the night games and a 7:00 kick is brutal for families with kids. We went but it was tempting to stay home TBH. F*** the 2 game skid, we were still 7-2 which isn't exactly the norm for ISU. Put that game at 11:00 or 230 and it would have been a sell out.

Those fair weather fans again. Not having the cannon should also be a factor too. @Urbandale2013 did you go to the game?
Yes. We bought tickets during the wrestling dual. Ended up paying $14/ticket. At that point it was worth it but earlier in the week tickets were still like $40/ticket. Heck the special deal this week was still at $40/ticket. I wonder if they would have sold AD tickets for like $20 to start the week what it would have looked like. We would have probably just bought then.

Will be interesting to see what K-State attendance will be. If we are playing for still a shot at Big 12 Title game/10 win season I would think it would be pretty good.

We lose to Utah/Out of Big 12 race and with it being Thanksgiving Week, students gone, some fans still in Maui, weather, game-time, etc. you will probably be able to shoot a cannon through the place which would be disappointing for the Seniors.
