I was originally on board with RS Casey, but now that I think, this team needs his energy. He’s one of the leaders now and I also believe he could make a run for the title at 157. We’ll see though.

If i could choose one to wrestle and one to RS between Casey and Chittum, I’m taking Casey to wrestle. He seems like he could be the vocal leader of this team. Just not sure how that works out line up wise.
Chittum will be the one to RS next year. Thats how they are working with the log jam in those weights.

Kysen won't challenge Frost, and I don't think Kysen will beat out Grice/Meza/Osmany. Likely just a depth piece this year
I’d be pretty surprised if Grice or Mesa could beat Terukina. Although Meza’s defense vs Kysen’s difficulty finishing could make that a bad matchup. I think Terukina beats Grice 9/10 times.

See I'm of the opposite opinion, based on last year's wrestleoff with Perryman where Terukina was very close with him and the fact that Perryman was the fourth seed in the 125 bracket I think Terukina was looking at being 4th string at 125. Would love to see those matchups though to see if that's true.

I just think that’s pretty much cherry-picking results. Grice went 1-3 against d1 wrestlers last year. His 1 win was against a guy wrestlestat has ranked 230 and it was in sudden victory.

Kysen has beaten multiple all Americans, and although we’re all not thrilled with his final results, he is a legitimate all American contender.

Until we see the same things from the other guys, it seems very disrespectful to Kysen. Grice has has 2 years of college results and absolutely nothing to think he can beat Kysen. Losing 7-1 to a mid level recruit who’s never wrestled a college match only makes me feel stronger about that.

I'm not really cherry picking results imo, we don't have a lot of head to head data for these guys so there's not much to go on. I do agree it's pretty difficult to extrapolate from these isolated matchups though. Kysen's ceiling seems like it could have been a lot higher, but he's never lived up to that potential. Despite beating several (I only remember the Wisconsin guy but was there more?) AA's, I would venture to say his floor is lower than those other three at 125.

Anyway, not shitting on Kysen. I just think he's been significantly passed up on the depth chart. Otherwise why go 133 where we have a returning AA?

Edit: Unless you're saying you think Kysen will challenge Frost?

He beat Cardinale and Tanner Jordan. I believe those are his other 2 AA wins

No, I don’t think he will challenge Frost.

My guess is that is a 6th year senior who has been known to lack discipline in the past. Probably got a bit heavy in the offseason and not really sure if he wants to go back down. Frost will probably make it clear to him he needs to.

Gives him a bit more time to get down to weight than having to be 5 over already.

Anyway, we have past results for both Kysen and Grice. To me, it is 100% clear who is the better wrestler.
