It's almost even. Believe it or not, the Royals payroll is higher than both DET and CLE.

For teams affected by it, it could mean those teams spend less in free agency due to uncertainty with how much money they’ll make from tv rights

You can only play who’s on your schedule but these are the numbers. And they’re both in the ALDS and I wouldn’t want anything to do with them

The irony: from Aug 11, when the Tigers' insane run started, they played the White Sox a grand total of 7 times, going 5-2 over those games. The 2 losses came after the Tigers clenched the playoff spot, so only the 5 wins actually matter.

Meanwhile, in that same stretch, the Tigers went:
3-0 against the Mariners
2-1 against the Yankees
2-1 against the Red Sox
4-2 against the Orioles
3-0 against the Royals
3-0 against the Rays

Anyone who wants to rip the Tigers for "getting fat" against the White Sox can STFU - because they actually beat teams their own teams probably couldn't.
