Yeah has to be a gut punch for George to realize he's not the "man" on that team anymore.Leclerc crashing renders this moot, but having him pit immediately behind Hamilton while Hamilton is serving his 5s penalty was diabolical. I understand preserving team dynamics, but that felt like favoring Hamilton so he could keep a position he would have lost.
I don't like Russell, so seeing him struggling is entertaining to me, especially since some seem very self inflicted. It's clear Mercedes have the best car, but also Kimi is the better driver.
After qualifying, I thought it was going to be the start of Max making a title push again. The Red Bull car does seem to be coming together, and Hadjar being able to get 3rd is at least somewhat of proof of that. But I really wished we could have seen how that race would have turned out with Max in it the whole time.

Anything ever come out after the race about the pit lane speeding penalties? I saw a clip of Alpine out with a measuring wheel but didn't see a follow-up anywhere.

So this is interesting. Apparently the Red Bull - Ford engine is the best one on the grid right now.. That's especially interesting over all the complaining about the Mercedes compression loophole.
It does seem that way. Even last year, it seemed to me that McLaren backed into the championship because they had such a dominant car the first half of the season. How many times was it as simple as McLaren screwing up a pit stop that cost them max points in the race, but those things don't seem to happen at Merc and RB.They don't always win but it always feels like Red bull and Mercedes are always making the smart decisions in F1.
