TCU was dangerous last year until the injury bug hit. At the same time, watching them at the Big12 tournament after getting Prince back was underwhelming. They were pretty much a big mess team-wise. Real lack of cohesion. And while I wanted Prince to impress me…she didn’t.

This is what I see as a big problem with many of theses teams.

My local Gophers drew the New Years roadtrip to Cali to play both UCLA and USC. That's two projected #1 seeds on the road in four days. Hawks get both at home this year, assume they have the coast trip in 2025.

Ari Peterson, Minnetonka, MN, daughter of former Viking Adrian Peterson, and Class of 2028 is getting some hoops notice.

"Big Ten programs that have offered Peterson a scholarship include the Gophers, Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Purdue and Maryland." - Star Tribune

Visited Iowa earlier this month (unofficial) and plays of All-Iowa Attack. Expect we will be hearing more about her.

That would be a nice road trip

Could be a battle of West and East USC's for foreseeable future.

FYI calling South Carolina by USC now that the real USC is good now is a bit weird.

Surprisingly, Texas Tech actually has some meat on their non-con schedule. They have Gonzaga, Florida State, and Missouri State. Of course the rest are patsies, but that’s a change for them.

Stumbled on the Big 10 pre-season stuff which was announced around 10 days ago.

Both the coaches and the media picked USC #1 and UCLA #2. Tough road trip for the teams that draw them both in succession out LA way. My home Gophers get the USC/UCLA double in LA and than Iowa, Ohio State and Indiana in succession, that's a tough five game stretch.

Hawks Hannah Stuelke and Lucy Olsen were first team picks. League is going to be tough, Hawks couldn't crack top five team even with 2 first teamers. Juju Watkins was, of course, POY pick. She was unanimous in the coaches poll but some joker in the media must have voted for someone else as their poll was not unanimous. Otherwise the picks were mostly just the same between the two polls.

Also, in rivals and December opponent news, Hawks Sydney Affolter underwent a surgical scope of her knee at the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center. Expected back by the time we play but knee stuff is always a wildcard on recovery time. They need her to be their new Kate Martin.

WBB transfer portal window is now 30 days, starting with the end of the second round of the NCAA tournament. It had been 45 days starting the day after selection Sunday, so they chopped off around a week on each side of the old window.

Ran across this while perusing recruiting news. Unofficial visit by Top 10 recruit to Iowa. Not cheap to fly the whole family in on their own dime so this shows serious interest IMHO. REALLY stiff competition with offers from all of this years Final Four favs except UConn (per their board they are out of the running).
