I feel it's being decent to let someone know if they suck instead of letting them continue to suck. You know, help them improve themself.
It's always fascinating to hear how a-holes justify being an a-hole. She has been making a living doing this kind of stuff for a long time, so it seems to be working for her.

They need to just rip off some of the basketball stuff into football stuff. 5 for 35 can be passes through hoops or something.

Field goal contest kickin for chicken or something if CFA will sponsor it.

Bud Light can sponsor a tall boy kicking contest.

They have a whole department of marketing people...put them to use.

I see ISU fans have found the relatively minor gameday experience issue they are going to latch onto and ***** about for the rest of the season.
It's funny. The same 3 to 4 guys who keep digging in deeper with their opinion are the ones who keep justifying why it's ok to be a jerk. I'm sure they would be ok if someone said that to their wife or daughter. Probably exact same ones who are the reason Chris had to pull a thread on Jack Whitver. Openly happy someone with a family is battling an awful disease.

Life's too short to be so angry at someone doing their job.

Not exactly sure.

There you go, much better than what they came up with.

I remember back when it was about "not being associated with alcohol" as almost a moral high ground. But now it's a main sponsor. Why not just sell it?

Is it really because we are worried what Sukup EZ folks will feel their benefit is devalued? Do they care?
As someone who has sat in the SEZ several times, I really don't think people would care. Alcohol is just one of the many benefits of sitting there. I like having quick access to bathrooms and concessions, being able to go indoors to AC/heat when the weather sucks, having TVs and phone chargers, having individual seats with cupholders, etc.

I've always thought a fair compromise would be allowing beer and wine sales in the stadium and keeping the liquor/mixed drinks only in the premium areas. Just seems like a wasted revenue stream these days when the athletic departments are being squeezed so tight to pay the players and CyTown is several years away from making any money.

Living in Cincinnati, I attend a few Reds game from time to time. They have a tent where fan interactions happen. Things like matching game, remembering a sequence, can you name more ‘x’ things vs. Reds player, etc. They have a kid announce an inning. Very good ways to get interaction.

Iowa State Athletics staff needs to go scope pro games out and take those ideas and run. No need to recreate the wheel.

You have had an account on CF for 3 years and have only posted 44 times. 10% of your posts all time are here in a thread debating the presence and quality of a gameday host that up until 48 hours ago most fans didn't even know was going to be a thing. Seems like a really odd topic to flip someone from lurker to active poster.

So why don't you fill us in on how you are related to Jackie?

This is just fiction. ISU and fans nationwide have bitched about the breaks and how terrible they are. This is the standard industry response. This is response to the survey they sent out to everyone. They are trying something different because people wanted something different.

Credit for them trying something. But not everything works and that clearly didn’t work. It might be more tolerable by turning down the mic, lessening the screaming, and not making it 90% reading ads.

But hiring a hawk fan to pump up Iowa State fans is beyond tone deaf. Even if she’s great at this job, that’s a non starter for most ISU fans.

Disagree simply because most fans will never actually know she's an Iowa fan. The ones here will and that's about it if I had to guess.

ISU should have gotten out in front of that. I'm guessing that was calculated since they announced it when the PA guy was brought on. Which begs the question wtf were they thinking.

Yeah, my wife’s a teacher so we even get phone calls at home telling us how much of a B she is. I wonder if Ryan friend Jackie got calls like that.

No one was happy about Jack dealing with a tumor. There's a plethora of posts stating that regardless of thinking he's a bag of s***.

She was terrible at a job that most don't think should exist, end of story.

lol. I haven't seen her once before yesterday. I don't hide behind a screen name and I'm sorry not being a jerk bothers you. I also doubt you'd say any of these things in front of your wife or me. But keep on letting the guy who said don't be an ass to someone you don't know bother you. Truly awesome you looked up stats too. Again, I'd be more than happy to give you whatever proof you need I've never met her or even know her last name. Let me know if you need any other info.

Ew. His volume is as loud as Jackie. Also gives creepy vibe like Jackie.
There’s not a lot of positive ones on that show. Corso has dementia, Kirk cries a lot, holtz slurs all the time and makes some crazy statements. So I’m kinda limited there.

After seeing one half of this new position, I don’t understand the point.

Maybe it will change throughout the year, but it seems like a giant waste of money.
Well, gotta watch something during all those tv timeouts.

Send the marketing team down to a SEC game. I know that’s the devil word around here but they know how to put on a production. Whether that be marketing, promos, in-house atmosphere, fan interaction, ect.

We aren’t the only school to have long tv timeouts but when watching other games we seem to be one of the few that comes out quiet from game breaks. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Maybe it’s from winning more and hate on me if you want but JTS has gotten quieter since the early Campbell years. Rhoads years have seen louder games.
