So....hi.

Tomorrow starts wrestling, and I know there are differences in freestyle wrestling and HS/collegiate wrestling. Can someone "explain like I'm five" the differences between the two please?

Greco is like imagine hs/college wrestling on your feet but only upper body.

Freestyle is more about takedowns or taking a guy down directly to his back. After you get a takedown you only have a few seconds to work for tilts and back exposure before you go back to feet. There is also like a “ring out” rule that forces wrestling into the center.

Not exactly sure.

One biggie is you can lock hands (why the Cubans we get take a few penalty points early on). If you push your opponent out, it’s a point. No escape points either, that is why no one really tries to escape and will just spread Eagle.

You get 2 points for back exposure or a hind lift. So if you can lace the legs and just gator roll your opponent, you just start ringing up 2 points on each roll and can tech fall quickly.

Biles steps out of bounds twice on Floor routine so she gets the Silver instead of the Gold

I am enjoying them, more than typical. Sorry if I ruined it for you.
So, the funny thing is that when I made my flippant comment, I hadn't even looked at the medal count. So, I checked on it this morning, and it is really odd that China has 2 more Gold Medals (21 to 19), but the USA has 20 more overall Medals (72 to 52) at the moment.

While I really don't care about the medal count or what is considered more important (Gold vs. Total), that is a drastic difference (as you mentioned). Just goes to show that statistics can be used to justify different things to different people. Each country views it differently which is neither good nor bad IMO.

Ironically (or maybe not), I am hoping for a USA Gold / Canada-Germany Silver-Bronze finish in MBB, So, Iowa State can have a Gold (Haliburton), Silver (Ejim or Weiler-Babb) and Bronze (Ejim or Weiler-Babb) Medalist in MBB. 'Twould make a GREAT recruiting poster for ISU MBB!

You can agree or disagree, but that’s the way everyone else tracks it.

That's because everyone else has given up hope of winning more overall medals than the US. I promise you that if America consistently won more golds than everyone else but it was a tossup whether another country might have more overall medals, they'd track overall medals.

The display of iron crosses by the CCP rings guy was just incredible. Unbelievable strength.
