And the Who and Where portion of the conference schedule (but not the When) comes out tomorrow:

I work with a guy who is a huge South Carolina fan - gonna make this fall fun. That's a monster non-con.

We could have a killer team and still have a handful of noncon losses. But the potential for a statement win is unreal. I’d rather see this schedule in 1-2 years.

Replacing OU and UT with neutral-site games against last year's NET #1 and #2.

Playing the metrics game.

We only play 3 of the 4 final four teams of last year, including the champion, surly we could find a way to play NC state too and make it 4 of 4.

Who is going to write a letter to Pollard?
Dear Mr. Pollard,

I trust you’re enjoying your day, possibly contemplating our next big win. I’m reaching out as a fervent fan of the Iowa State women’s basketball team, and I’ve got a bone to pick.

I couldn’t help but notice our upcoming season’s schedule, and it seems we’re playing it a tad safe, don’t you think? We’re facing only three of last year’s Final Four teams. Now, I’m all for a good confidence booster, but too many “cupcakes” might give us a sugar rush instead of the robust competition we crave.

On another note, I’ve been pondering the absence of baseball at Iowa State. Sure, I might not buy any tickets, but bringing back the ol’ bat and ball could be a home run for school spirit, don’t you agree?

Sell beer in the stadium,
ZorkClone

HOME/AWAY: Kansas, K-State, UCF

HOME only: BYU, Utah, Colorado, Tech, TCU, Houston
AWAY only: Arizona, ASU, Cincinnati, Baylor, OSU, West Virginia

The conference setup for single matchups feels very much like travel partners (2 games, 1 trip).

at Arizona/at ASU
at Cincinnati/at WVU
at OSU/at Baylor

vs BYU/vs Utah
vs Colorado/vs Tech
vs TCU/vs Houston

Overall, I like our home slate. Utah should be a good home game, and Baylor, WVU, and Arizona on the road will all be tough games. Finally, we don't have to go to Lubbock, so that is a win.

We will go to Tempe to the ASU game, since we have family that winter there. There is a large contingent of people from Kossuth county who followed the team closely last year because of Audi (they had watch parties). I have a feeling there may be a pro-ISU crowd for that game.

I have really wondered if this would be a way to save money for the sports that don’t turn a profit. Or maybe schedule some Saturday couple headers with the men so it would be only one charter flight ect.
