House of the Dragon

Just finished a rewatch of Season 1 last night. I loved the first season when it aired, but on rewatch I thought it was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed myself watching it. Very excited for Season 2!
I tried to do this too, but quickly found how challenging it was with a 3 year old around constantly. Ended up having to watch a condensed recap on YouTube, which was fine. I am ready, I am excited.

Damn, the end of that episode.
Why were those henchmen so stupid? Did they not hear 'silver hair with one eye'? I don't get it.

EDIT: It just dawned on me they asked what if they can't find him and Daemon really didn't say anything which likely meant if you can't find him...well we saw what the decision was

I'm not very familiar with the source material all that well, but apparently these two guys, known as "Blood and Cheese", are infamous among the GOT super fans who have read "Fire and Blood" for what we saw on screen.

Yep, I figured they wouldn’t find him when they asked that but wasn’t sure why they left it open ended, Yeesh.

I’ve read the History of Westeros (but not Fire and Blood) actually. So I know some of the big moments that are to come.

But the end of last night’s episode, yeesh! That one stuck with me for a bit

Loved it. Nice table setting. Had to keep reminding myself it's just a story.

I have a 3 almost 4 yo son.

I have a 3 year old and an 8 month old. So that was rattling.

Listening to Talk the Thrones and they said the book scene was actually worse. So I guess I appreciate them toning it down!

Wonder if it's a slight change in philosophies at HBO? I think the latest season of Westworld (which I'm struggling through) hasn't had any which is a change from the opening seasons.

I'll fall into the hopeful but afraid of being hurt camp of GoT. Still amazes me just how badly they f'd up that last season. Took a literal world wide TV viewing event and turned it into a bunch of memes.
Oh man, there's some amazing nudity in the first season. Thandie Newton, Angela Sarafyan, Evan Rachel Wood, Tessa Thompson. So many hotties.

Thoughts on tonight's episode?

A bit short on action (although the fight scene at the end was properly intense), but plenty of story setting. Rhys Ifans was tremendous in his scenes tonight.

I’m calling my shot here. The winner of the fight scene was the one who was sent to kill her. He had to pretend to be loyal but eventually he’s not

I thought they handled Blood & Cheese, and their aftermath very well. The nice thing about the book that this is based on is that it is full of false narrators or secondhand accounts. So, it lends itself very well to television. If things don't play out exactly how they do in Fire And Blood, it's not a huge deal. Gives the showrunners a lot more creative leeway.

I'm curious how they're going to handle the Dragonseeds. I thought that might be something that would end up on the cutting room floor. But they teased it a bit during the Alyn and Addam scenes, as well as Hugh the blacksmith.

I'm enjoying season 2 quite a bit.
